��egrees between left-right ch�nnels) or mul-
tich�nnel (I�U-R BS.77�-�) pl�cement rec-
ommen���tion.

re�r w�ll shoul�� be �coustic�lly �bsorbent �t
low frequencies. �he w�ll in which the lou��-
spe�kers �re mounte�� shoul�� h�ve � high
�coustic�l m�ss to properly implement � low
frequency r���i�tion con��ition into h�lf sp�ce
�n�� be �ngle�� so th�t the lou��spe�kers �re
correctly �ime��. �owever, the lou��spe�k-
ers shoul�� not be mounte�� too high �s this
incre�ses the require�� vertic�l tilt of the lou��-
spe�ker (m�ximum tilt �ngle < �0 ��egrees)
�n�� re��uces the optimum listening �re�. Gre�t
c�re shoul�� be t�ken over how the lou��spe�ker
is mounte�� into the w�ll. Note the following:
�� sp�ce �0 to �00 mm (� to 4") wi��e c�n
be left �roun�� the lou��spe�ker. Cover the
sp�ce �roun�� the lou��spe�ker with � f�cing
p�nel th�t shoul�� be fixe�� to the w�ll. Le�ve
� g�p of �bout � to �0 mm (¼ to ½") between
the lou��spe�ker �n�� the p�nel. Fill this g�p
with � soft rubber g�sket to �llow for possible
c�binet movement (see Figure 6).
Ensure th�t the lou��spe�ker c�bles c�n
re�ch the re�r of the lou��spe�ker c�binets.
Reg�r��less of the type of front w�ll con-
struction the lou��spe�ker c�binet shoul�� be
mounte�� on vibr�tion isol�tors, with � reson�nt
frequency between � to 8 �z, to prevent vibr�-
tions from being tr�nsmitte�� to the w�ll �n��
imp�iring the low frequency perform�nce.

pl�stic. �he woo��en w�ll structure must be
he�vily br�ce�� to �chieve sufficiently high
m�ss �n�� rigi��ity (see Figure �).
In � soli�� w�ll (e.g. concrete) structure, the
sp�ce �roun�� the c�binet shoul�� be fille��
with either �bsorbent miner�l wool or s�n��
b�gs (see Figure 4).
�he w�ll c�n �lso be constructe�� of � com-
bin�tion of m�teri�ls to �chieve high �cousti-
c�l structur�l m�ss th�t will ��is�ble low fre-
quency soun�� prop�g�tion �n�� provi��e high
LF soun�� isol�tion (see Figure �). ��coustic
consult�nts will be �ble to provi��e ��et�ils �n��
��esign these structures.
Ensure th�t the c�binet is flush with the
surf�ce of the w�ll. Discontinuities in the lou��-
spe�ker mounting w�ll will c�use ��iffr�ction,
which le���s to inferior frequency response
�n�� im�ging. So, if � ��ecor�tive cloth fr�me
is use�� to cover the w�ll, m�ke sure th�t the
e��ges ���j�cent to the lou��spe�ker �re less
th�n �0 mm (
/
") ��eep. �he cloth must be very

thin �ricot or �n �coustic�lly tr�nsp�rent m�te-
ri�l otherwise the high frequency response of
the system will be ���versely �ffecte��. Genelec
�pprove�� cloth grilles �re �v�il�ble.
Mo��e in��ic�tor LED
�he lou��spe�ker is provi��e�� with � three-
colour in��ic�tor LED on the DCW™ p�nel.
When the LED is green, it in��ic�tes th�t the
lou��spe�ker is re���y for use. St�n��by mo��e
is in��ic�te�� by yellow colour. ��mplifier clip-
ping is in��ic�te�� by � blinking re�� light �n��
therm�l protection mo��e by � const�nt re��
light. If clipping is in��ic�te�� re��uce the sign�l
level so th�t the LED stops blinking. If the

re�� LED st�ys on const�ntly, switch off the
lou��spe�ker �n�� the �u��io source �n�� let the
�mplifier cool ��own. Check th�t the ventil�-
tion �roun�� the �mplifier is not blocke��. �here
shoul�� be � cle�r�nce of more th�n �00 mm
(4") between the �mplifier f�ce p�nel �n�� �ny
soli�� surf�ce �t the b�ck. If the re�� light ��oes
not come off, cont�ct �uthorise�� Genelec
service.
�he LED c�n be ��e�ctiv�te�� if you fin�� it
��isturbing in � ���rkene�� room by turning both
the "POWER LED" �n�� "S���NDBY LED"
switches on the �mplifier p�nel to "OFF".
M�inten�nce
No user service�ble p�rts �re to be foun��
within the �mplifier unit. ��ny m�inten�nce or
rep�ir shoul�� only be un��ert�ken by qu�li-
fie�� service personnel. Ensure th�t if fuse
repl�cement is require��, only fuses of the
s�me volt�ge �n�� current r�ting �re use��.
Remember to ��isconnect the power supply
by remov�l of the m�ins c�ble, before fuse
repl�cement.
