The Ztuner v.2 occupies only half the width of a single rack space in a standard 19" equipment rack. For rack mounting, you can fasten it to another Parasound Zcustom model by using the Parasound SBS (Side-by-Side) mounting kit. You can also mount a single Ztuner v.2 in the rack with the accessory Zblank panel.
REAR PANEL CONNECTIONS AND CONTROLS Connection Precautions Disconnect the AC cord before and while making or changing any input, trigger, or speaker connections. Make sure there is no strain or tension on any connections that could cause them to pull loose. Antenna Connections The Ztuner v.2 cannot receive any FM or AM stations without separate antennas for each band.

REAR PANEL CONNECTIONS AND CONTROLS continued Ext (External) Remote Control Input Jack Your Ztuner v.2 accepts the infrared signal of any popular infrared repeater system to facilitate remote control operation from another room or when your tuner is installed within a closed cabinet.
RS-232 Control Jack. The RS-232 programming guide is included on a separate sheet and are also available on our website, www.parasound.com. Region Switch Set this switch for the region where you live. Tuning increments in the USA position (North America) are 200 kHz for FM and 10 kHz for AM.
Press this button once to turn on and press it again to turn off. What will be displayed: After turn on the display first shows PARASOUND Ztuner v.2. Note: If you changed the Zone or Region setting since the Ztuner v.2 was last turned on, or if its AC power was interrupted, it will next display ZONE CHANGE with the new zone number 1-4.

FRONT PANEL DISPLAY AND CONTROLS continued Mono Button The Ztuner v.2 will display STEREO for an FM stereo station with a signal strength of at least 30µV. If the station is broadcasting mono or it is a stereo station with a signal strength below 30µV then MONO is displayed.
REMOTE CONTROL HANDSET The remote control has a range of approximately 20 - 25 feet (6 - 7.5 meters). Use only AAA alkaline batteries in the handset and insert them according to the + and - polarity markings in the battery compartment. Zone Code You can select different remote command codes to control up to four Ztuner v.2s independently with the same wireless remote control system.

REMOTE CONTROL HANDSET continued Mono Key The Mono and Stereo (St.) keys have the same function as the Mono button on the front panel Press the Mono key to enforce mono output for stations which are broadcasting stereo signals. When you press the Mono key to manually select mono output, the display will show MONO-E. E stands for Enforced.
TYPICAL PROBLEMS AND REMEDIES Maintaining Your Ztuner v.2 Your Parasound Ztuner v.2 requires no periodic maintenance; it will thrive on your frequent use and enjoyment. It has no user-serviceable parts inside. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not remove its top cover.
