2. SERVICING

2.1 Before Troubleshooting

Before troubleshooting, check the following and see if any of the problems you are
experiencing can be fixed.
Problem
The printer does not
operate at all.
Paper feeding does
not work.
Printing does not
take place
Stripes appear in the
printout
Color tones are
incorrect
Probable Cause
The power outlet is not supplying
the required voltage.
The power cord is not properly
connected to the printer or power
outlet.
An internal plug is disconnected.
Recommended paper is not being
used.
There is foreign matter in the
paper feed section (sheet feeder,
pinch roller, LF roller, platen,
spurs).
The Print Head needs cleaning.
The ink cartridge is empty.
The Print Head has not been
used for a prolonged period.
The ink tanks are not properly
seated.
Print head alignment has not
been performed.
The ink tanks are not properly
seated, cleaning has not been
performed.

Part 2: Troubleshooting
Solution
Connect the AC cord to a power
outlet which supplies the
required voltage.
Check that the power cord is
connected properly.
Disconnect and reconnect the plug.
Use only recommended paper.
Remove the foreign matter.
Clean the Print Head.
Replace the ink cartridge.
Replace the cartridge, if the
problem still persists after cleaning.
Make sure the ink tanks are
properly seated.
Perform print head alignment.
