Safety Information

Refer to the supplied safety manual for detailed safety information.
Computer
If you drop a solid object or any liquid onto your VAIO computer, shut down the
computer, unplug it, and remove the battery pack. You may want to have the computer
checked by qualified personnel before operating it again.
Use only specified peripheral equipment and interface cables.
Keep small parts such as "Memory Stick" and "Memory Stick" adaptors out of reach of
children. There is a risk of swallowing them.
The temperature of the surface and the bottom of your VAIO computer, the AC adapter,
and the battery pack may rise due to the CPU load or an electric current generated
while the battery pack is being charged. This is normal and does not indicate a
malfunction. The amount of heat generation varies depending on external devices or
software in use.
If your VAIO computer or the AC adapter becomes extraordinarily hot, turn off the
computer, unplug the AC adapter, remove the battery pack, and then contact an
authorized Sony service/support center.

Power source

Do not place heavy objects on the power cord, or this could cause a fire.
To disconnect the power cord, pull it out by holding the plug. Never pull the cord itself.
Do not use cut or damaged connection cables.
Unplug your VAIO computer from the AC outlet if you are not planning to use the
computer for an extended period of time.
If you are not using your VAIO computer for an extended period of time, remove the
battery pack from the computer to prevent damage to the battery pack.
Headphones
Do not use headphones while driving, cycling, or operating any motorized vehicle. It may
create a traffic hazard and is illegal in some areas. It can also be potentially dangerous
to play loud music while walking, especially at pedestrian crossings.
Avoid using headphones at high volume. Hearing experts advise against continuous,
loud and extended play. If you experience a ringing in your ears, reduce the volume or
discontinue use.
