Learning about the remote control

The buttons used only for operating the TV are described here. For a
complete list of the remote control's functions, see the "Remote
Control functional key chart" on pages 20–21.
turns the TV on and off
POWER
allows access to the automatic TV shut-off function (page 54)
SLEEP
The first press of the LIGHT button lights the keypad and turns
LIGHT
on the Illumination mode. With the Illumination mode on,
pressing any other key lights the keypad for 5 seconds (10 seconds
if you're in programming mode).
Subsequent presses of the LIGHT button toggle between turning
the Illumination mode on and off.
Channel Numbers (0-9, 100)
cycles through the six device modes: TV, CABLE/SAT, VCR,
MODE
DVD, AUDIO1, and AUDIO2. The mode indicator light will
remain lit for a few seconds (page 22).
cycles through the five pictures sizes: Natural, TheaterWide 1, 2,
PIC SIZE
3, and Full (page 34)
allows access to the favorite channel search function (page 41)
FAVORITE
allows access to on-screen programming menus (page 27)
MENU
sets programming menu information (page 27)
ENTER
select or adjust programming menus (page 27)
yz x •
cycles through favorite channels (page 32)
FAV yz
cycles through programmed channels (page 29)
CH yz
adjusts the volume level
VOL yz
exits the programming menus (page 27)
EXIT
selects the video input source (page 52)
INPUT
mutes the sound (page 55)
MUTE
displays on-screen information (page 62)
RECALL
returns to the last viewed channels (page 31)
CH RTN
selects the POP (picture-out-picture) channel (page 38)
POP CH yz
turns the POP feature on and off (page 38)
SPLIT
allows access to the programmed channel search function (page 40)
CH SCAN
freezes the picture. Press again to restore the picture.
FREEZE
switches the main and POP pictures (page 39)
SWAP
POP DIRECT CH
selects the POP picture source (page 38)
