When should you use

System Recovery for
Windows XP?
You may need to recover the Windows XP operating system if your
computer does not start correctly, or if Windows does not start at all.
System recovery will restore your computer to its original factory
ALL DATA WILL BE DESTROYED DURING THE
condition.
SYSTEM RECOVERY PROCESS.
After system recovery, your computer will be the same as when it was
new. All installed software programs, user/network settings, music,
photo, video, and data files will be lost. Therefore, it is essential that
you make a backup copy of all data before initiating the system
recovery process (e.g., copy all files to an external hard disk).
Note:
Although system recovery will restore your computer, this method of
system recovery should be used only after all other options have been
tried.
Try the following methods first. In order:
1.
Revert to the "Last Known Good" configuration.
2.
Start the computer in Safe Mode and try to fix the problem.
3.
Use the Windows XP Recovery Console.
4.
Use System Restore.
