    Print cartridges User’s Guide Use a parallel cable that supports bidirectional communication (IEEE 1284-compatible), such as Lexmark P/N 1329605. Setup software Note: If you are using Windows 98, you can use a USB (Universal Serial Bus) cable. For help, refer to the instructions in your printed User’s Guide.

    Plug in your printer 2b... to the computer Connect both ends of the power supply Make sure you tighten the screws. Connect the power supply to the printer. Plug the power supply into an electrical outlet.

  • Page 4: Install The Print Cartridges

    Install the print cartridges Press the Power button Raise the front cover Power button Power light When you raise the front cover, the print cartridge carrier moves to the loading position. If the Power light is on, continue with step 4. If not, check your connections.
  • Page 5 Unpack the cartridges Insert the cartridges Black Color Tape Sticker Avoid touching the gold contact area Remove each new print cartridge from its packaging. Remove the sticker and the transparent tape covering the gold area on the cartridges.
  • Page 6 Snap the cartridges into Prepare for loading place Media support SNAP SNAP Push back on the cartridges until they snap securely into place. If the print cartridges move loosely in the carrier, Paper exit they are not locked into place. Make sure the tray cartridges snap into place.
