1.14 Platform Management and Security
Intel DH61HO Desktop Board integrates several functions designed to manage the
system and lower the total cost of ownership (TCO) of the system. These system
management functions are designed to report errors, diagnose the system, and
recover from system lockups without the aid of an external microcontroller.
1.14.1
Hardware Management Subsystem
The hardware management features enable the board to be compatible with the Wired
for Management (WfM) specification. The board has several hardware management
features, including the following:
Fan monitoring and control
•
Thermal and voltage monitoring
•
1.14.2
Hardware Monitoring
The hardware monitoring and fan control subsystem is based on the ITE 8728F device,
which supports the following:
•
Processor and system ambient temperature monitoring
Chassis fan speed monitoring
•
Power monitoring of +12 V, +5 V, +3.3 V, V_SM, and +VCCP
•
SMBus interface
•
1.14.2.1
