Additionally, in order to feel assured that you have gained a good grasp of every feature provided by your new
unit, this manual should be read in its entirety. The manual should be saved and kept on hand as a convenient
reference.
Thank you, and congratulations on your choice of the SRX-05
"Supreme Dance" Wave Expansion Board.
This expansion board provides a huge variety of tried-and-true
sounds geared for dance music, whether it be Techno, House,
HipHop, Trance, 2-Step, or Drum 'n' Bass. In addition, it also
includes some of the latest sounds developed by Spectrasonics, the
American company that is known for its range of high-quality CD-
ROMs for samplers.
The SRX-05 includes a great number of rhythm sounds, including
133 different snare sounds and 113 kick sounds, along with 82
vintage synth and JP-8000 waveforms like Hit&Stab, SH, JUNO, and
JUPITER, scratch sounds, FX, strings/electric piano chords, phrase
loops, and more.
The Patches and Rhythm Sets include synth bass, synth lead, pads,
and FX patches—all indispensable when creating dance tracks.
Also included are special Rhythm Sets that you can use in a wide
variety of musical genres.

* The parameter settings for Patches and Rhythm Sets are optimized for
the Fantom series, XV series, JUNO-G,
with SRX slots, MC-909, VR-760, G-70, and E-80 models, so there
are some minor differences in the sounds each instrument produces.
This expansion board utilizes a new format. Check the
system program version for your instrument, and if a
relevant upgrade is available, upgrade your instrument
using the appropriate system update program on the
included CD-ROM. (See p. 27.)

Refer turn off the Fantom series/XV series/JUNO-G/ all servicing to your retailer, the nearest Roland SonicCell/MX-200/RD series with SRX slots/MC- Service Center, or an authorized Roland 909/VR-760/G-70/E-80 and unplug its power cord.

    When you purchase the SRX-05 expansion board from an authorized Roland dealer, the included sounds and samples are licensed, not sold, to you by Roland Corporation, for commercial use in music production, public performance, broadcast, etc. You may use any of the included phrases and/or samples in a commercial or non-commercial recording without paying any additional license fees.
  • Page 5 INSTALLING THE WAVE EXPANSION BOARD * Turn off your instrument. 1. Remove the cover located on the top (or rear) of your instrument. 2. Insert the Wave Expansion Board connector into a connector for an SRX Series slot, while simultaneously inserting the board holders into the holes in the Wave Expansion Board.

The B.P.M. used when sampling the original (Original B.P.M.) is reproduced by the C4 key when both "c.t." (Coarse Tune) and "f.t." (Fine Tune) are at "0." If you want to obtain twice the tempo of the original B.P.M., either play the C5 key (key one octave above), or set "c.t."(Coarse Tune) to +12 and play the C4 key.
