8.
Play C4.
This "note" will be recorded by the Step editor on the overdub track.
9.
Press Stop, followed by the Done soft button to leave the Step editor.
10. Now press the EVENT soft button to enter the Event editor.
11.
Move the C4 note event from 1:1.000 to 1:1.101 by entering "11101" in its Bar:Beat:Tick
column. Then set the note's velocity to 127 and its duration to the maximum value.
The simplest way to set the note's duration to its maximum value is to type "9999999" in
the note duration column. When you press the Enter key, the value shown in this column
will be updated to reflect the maximum possible duration for the note, as shown below.

12. Press Exit and save the changes to the song.
Do not change the song's current record track.
13.
Press the Sample soft button (Program, Setup, Q Access, or Master page); enter sampler.
14. Set the Sample to "None" and Source to "Ext". Then choose a sample rate and the
longest available sample length. Finally, set Thresh to "Key".
15. Press the Record soft button.
Be careful not to press any keys yet.
16. Press the Program button to enter Program mode.
17. Double press the Left and Right cursor buttons to start the song and begin recording
the sample (overdub).
Alternatively, you can press the Play/Pause button on the K2500 keyboard models.
18. Double press the Left and Right cursor buttons to stop the song (and recording).
19. Return to the Sample page and press the Stop soft button to stop sampling.
20. Save the sample, then press the Preview soft button, choosing the bank with the lowest
unused program number (in this example, the 200's bank).
The new sample will be made into the program with the lowest unused number (in this
example, "213"), and it will play along correctly with the song, owing to the C4 note that
you've recorded in the overdub track. To add more overdub tracks, copy the track you've
just made to an empty track, then edit its program change command to be the next highest
unused program. You can then begin recording the next overdub (sample) by restarting at
step 13, above.
