6.1.2 Evaluating the Streaming Tools

To evaluate the streaming capabilities of ZENworks Application Virtualization 8.0, you must
request a public key/private key pair when you download the product at the
site (http://download.novell.com). The product overview page provides a link to your
Customer Center (http://www.novell.com/center)
evaluation key pair.
This key pair is used to validate that the application being streamed was created by you. To evaluate
streaming, use the evaluation private key to generate streaming configurations. Distribute the public
key to the devices that will execute the streaming key as described in
Certificates," on page
period. When this period ends, applications expire and can no longer be launched or streamed.

6.1.3 Purchasing a Permanent License and Key Pair

When you purchase the product, Novell or a Novell reseller sends you a link to a license file for the
application packager and a new key pair for streaming. If you were previously evaluating the
streaming capabilities of the product, you need to remove any existing evaluation restrictions on the
applications you have been streaming by following these steps:
1 Using the licensed applications packager, rebuild the applications you have been streaming.

2 Using the new private key, generate new streaming configuration files. See

3 Distribute the new public key to each of the devices where you want to stream applications. For

6.2 Streaming Virtual Applications from the Web

You can set up a Spoon Standalone server plug-in that allows users to receive applications created in
Novell ZENworks Application Virtualization and streamed from the Web. This section includes the
