Building Novell AppArmor Profiles With the YaST GUI
3. In the Application to Profile dialog box, enter the name of the appli-
cation or browse to the location of the program.
4. Click the Create Profile button. This action runs autodep, which
performs a static analysis of the program to be profiled and loads
an approximate profile into Novell AppArmor module. For more
information about autodep, refer to " Autodep" o n p a g e5 3 .
The Novell AppArmor GenProf Profiling Wizard window displays.
5. In the background, Novell AppArmor also sets the profile to learn-
i n g mo d e . F o r mo r e i n f o r ma t i o n o n l e a r n i n g mo d e , r e f e r t o " Com-
plain or Learning Mode" o n p a g e5 4 .
6. Execute the application that is being profiled, by starting it.
7. Perform as many of the application functions as possible so learn-
ing mode can log the files and directories the program requires
access to in order to function properly.
8. Click on the Scan System Log for Entries to Add to Profile but-
ton to parse the learning mode log files. This will generate a series
of questions which you must answer to guide the wizard in generat-
ing the security profile.
