dsktune Utility
For UNIX platforms, Directory Server provides a utility that can help you check
that you have the appropriate patches installed on your system. It also provides
useful information and advice on how to tune your kernel parameters for best
performance. This utility is called
/usr/netscape/servers/bin/slapd/server
running
, refer to Chapter 7, "Troubleshooting."

NOTE
Before you install Directory Server, you must check that DNS is
properly configured on your system, and that the system has a
static IP address.
Solaris 8 Operating System
If you run Directory Server on a Solaris operating system, you must ensure that the
recommended patch cluster is installed. Solaris patches are identified by two
numbers, for example 106125-10. The first number (106125) identifies the patch
itself. The second number identifies the version of the patch, in the example above
the patch is version number 10. We recommend installing the latest version of the
patch in order to benefit from the latest fixes.
