KVM restrictions and support

Important
KVM only supports AMD64 and Intel 64 versions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Other
architectures are not supported at this time.
The KVM hypervisor requires a processor with the Intel-VT or AMD-V virtualization extensions.
To verify whether your processor supports the virtualization extensions and for information on
enabling the virtualization extensions if they are disabled, refer to
extensions".
The Red Hat Enterprise Linux kvm package is limited to 16 processor cores in Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 5.4 and newer.
