  2. Timer.
  3. Safety Plug.
  4. Ejector Knob.
  5. Slide out Crumb Tray.

SPECIAL TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL TOASTING

  1. The ideal slice of bread is 4½" x 4½" x ½". Do not force bread which is too thick or too long into slots, if this is done difficulty may be experienced ejecting the bread once toasted.
  2. Do not insert broken slices of bread into the slots.
  3. Fully load ALL heated Slots.
  4. The toaster can be turned off at any time during the toasting cycle by turning the timer to the 'O' position.
  5. The shade required can be changed during the toasting cycle by turning the timer to another setting.
  6. Keep elements free from bread crumbs and broken pieces of bread, as these will carbonize and burn out the elements.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR 2, 3 & 4 SLOT MODELS

YOUR TOASTER IS FITTED WITH ONE ADJUSTABLE FOOT WHICH MAY BE HAND RAISED TO COMPENSATE FOR UNEVEN SURFACES

  1. Lift the round Ejector Knob and insert bread, muffins or bagel slices into the appropriate slots.
  2. Number of slices to be selected
    2 SLOT MODEL

One slice: The Slot Selector Switch marked 'l' when depressed will choose left slot for toasting.
Two slices: The Slot Selector Switch marked 'll' when depressed will choose both slots for toasting.
    3 SLOT MODEL

Two slices: The Slot Selector Switch marked 'II' when depressed will choose the left slots for toasting.
Three slices: The Slot Selector Switch marked 'III' when depressed will choose all slots for toasting.
    4 SLOT MODEL

Two slices: The Slot Selector Switch marked 'll' when depressed will choose the left slots for toasting.
Four slices: The Slot Selector Switch marked 'llll' when depressed will choose all slots for toasting.
For best results, toast should be inserted into ALL slots chosen by the slot selector. If any heated slots are left empty the other heated slots will toast unevenly.
  3. To activate toaster turn the Timer clockwise to desired toasting shade:
    Approximate position:
    1.5 -- Light Toast
    2.5 -- Medium Toast
    3.0 -- Dark Toast
THIS WILL IMMEDIATELY START THE TOASTER.
Automatic timing will start and the red neon light will illuminate.
When the timer reaches zero (this can be achieved manually), the neon light and heating element will switch off.
The timer will stop ticking when the toast is done. The toast will not pop up, but will keep warm inside for approximately 10 minutes until ready for serving.
  4. To eject toast press the Ejector Knob to the down position and the toast will pop up ready for serving.
  5. The toaster is OFF when the Timer is in the 'O' position (regardless of the Slot Selector position).
  6. Unplug the toaster when not in use.

WARM UP GUIDE

The Dualit toaster was designed for commercial use in restaurants and hotels in England where the toaster may be in continual use for 8 hours. Therefore the heating elements are of a heavy construction. Because of this you may experience what you consider to be a longer war m up period. THIS IS NORMAL. Once warm however (this is achieved after one toasting cycle), you will experience quick heating and even toasting. When beginning toasting or after a lapse of 15 minutes, the outsides of the bread in the end slots may be under toasted. This can be avoided by preheating the selected slots before inserting bread by setting the timer for two or three minutes. When the toaster is war med up, consistent results will be achieved.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

ALL MODELS

  1. Always unplug toaster before cleaning.
  2. Crumbs should be carefully brushed off the elements (using only a soft brush), and the toaster shaken out. NEVER insert a fork or other sharp instrument to remove torn pieces of bread as the heating elements may be damaged.
  3. Remove crumb tray to clean.
  4. Use a damp sponge or cloth to wipe off the outside surfaces of the toaster.
