    INSTALLATION NOTICE: This heater is intended for use as supple- mental heat. Use this heater along with your primary heating system. Do not install this heater as your primary heat source. If you have a central heating system, you may run system’s circulating blower while using heater.

Align holes in left surround side panel with screen mounting screw holes. Replace 5/16" screen mounting shoulder screws removed in step 1 (see Figure 6). Do not tighten. Install Phillips screws in bottom (see Figure 6).

If using a mantel above the fireplace, you must follow the clearances shown in Figure 14, page 9.
  • Page 11 INSTALLATION Continued WARNING: Never connect natural gas fireplace insert to private (non-utility) gas wells. This gas is commonly known as wellhead gas. For propane/LP units, the installer must supply an external regula- tor. The external regulator will reduce incoming gas pressure. You must reduce incoming gas pressure to between 11 and 14 inches of water.

A flexible gas line is pro- vided to allow connection with the fireplace (see Figure 20). The flexible gas supply line connection to the equipment shutoff valve should be accessible.

    INSTALLATION Continued INSTALLING 9-VOLT BATTERIES Two 9-volt batteries (not included) are required to operate this heater with the wireless hand-held remote control set. Install one battery in the receiver and one in the hand-held remote control unit. Note: Only use alkaline batteries. Blower switch is located at lower left inside louver door. This thermostat-controlled blower has a variable speed control that operates the blower.

    CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE WARNING: Turn off heater and let cool before cleaning. CAUTION: You must keep control areas, burner, and circulating air passageways of heater clean. In- spect these areas of heater before each use. Have heater inspected yearly by a qualified service person. Heater may need more frequent cleaning due to exces- sive lint from carpeting, pet hair, bedding material, etc.
