2017 IS200t/IS300/IS350 Pre-Delivery Service Manual
Lexus Technician:
Before you perform Pre-Delivery Service (PDS) on this vehicle, be sure you:
• Read and understand this PDS Manual
• Read and understand all applicable PDS Technical Service Information Bulletins (TSIBs) for this vehicle
• Read and understand the PDS Precautions in the TSIBs and on pages 4 and 45.
• Attend the "Technical Introduction to Lexus Course L005" at the Lexus Area Office
When performing PDS on this vehicle:
• Use the PDS Manual when performing this service
• Check Technical Information System (TIS) for updated PDS TSIBs and applicable Repair Manual information
• Verify that the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on repair order and vehicle match
• Lift vehicle and perform under-vehicle safety/damage inspection
• Road test vehicle long enough to test hot engine; drive over rough road (Bott dots) to test for rattles/squeaks
• When PDS is completed, complete Check Sheet, attach printouts, and file with PDS repair order

TPWS Operation Verification
1. Connect Techstream to DLC3.
2. Adjust all tires (except the spare
tire) to the standard tire inflation
pressure as indicated on the tire and
loading information label on vehicle.
NOTE:
• To adjust tire pressure correctly when
outside temperature is significantly
colder or warmer than shop
temperature, perform a Health
Check using Techstream and select
the "Compensation Tire Pressure"
checkbox. Compensation pressures
will be displayed on the Health Check
results screen.
• Adjust the tire pressure when the tires
are cold.

INSPECTION DETAILS - B. LOCKS AND LIGHTS
WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL
Inspect the five functions of the wireless remote control system.
SMART ACCESS SYSTEM
Test the smart access system for proper locking and unlocking operations.
THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM
Verify the theft deterrent system operates correctly when doors are locked.
IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM
Check immobilizer system indicator light function with engine off and on.
DOOR LOCK SYSTEM AND ILLUMINATED ENTRY
Check door lock operation, manual key control, and illuminated entry.
POWER SUPPLY CHANGEOVER AND START/STOP
Check proper activation of the ENGINE switch and power supply modes.
EXTERIOR LIGHTS
Walk around and check all exterior lights for proper illumination.
TURN SIGNAL, HEADLIGHT, HIGH BEAM LIGHTS
Check operation of turn signals, headlights, high beams, and flashers.

INTERIOR PARTS CONDITION
Visually inspect interior parts for dirt, damage, and proper fit and alignment.
PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM*
Check that the Pre-Collision System (PCS) feature is turned on in the MID.

Check systems with Techstream, initialize TPWS, verify TPWS operation.
SEAT BELT OPERATION
Check seat belt operation for extension, retraction, and latching.

SEAT ADJUSTMENT
Check power seat adjustment for position, angle, and lumbar support.

POWER WINDOWS AND DOOR LOCKS
Check power window operation and door lock switch functionality.

WINDSHIELD WIPER DE-ICER*
Check windshield wiper de-icer operation with the ENGINE switch in ACCESSORY or IG-ON mode.

Check operation of various interior lights including footwell and vanity lights.
INSTRUMENT PANEL CONTROLS
Check odometer/trip meter and instrument panel light controls.
BLIND SPOT MONITOR*
Check Blind Spot Monitor switch indicator illumination.

Check operation of the trunk opener button.

WHEEL LUG NUT TORQUE
Ensure wheel lug nuts are torqued to specifications if wheels were removed.
WHEEL CENTER CAPS
Install wheel center caps on the wheels.
CHASSIS INSPECTION FOR LEAKAGE OR DAMAGE
Check chassis components for proper installation, connection, and fluid leaks.
FLUID LEAKS AND EXHAUST SYSTEM
Check for fluid leaks in various systems and inspect exhaust system.
INSPECTION DETAILS - J. ROAD TEST
BOTT DOT ROAD TEST LAYOUT
Drive vehicle over rough surface or Bott Dots to check for squeaks and rattles.
FILL UP FUEL TANK
Fill the fuel tank with unleaded fuel of 91 octane or higher.
ENGINE TRANSMISSION OPERATION
Check engine start, shift lever operation, and transmission shifts.
CRUISE CONTROL AND DRIVING MODES
Check cruise control, radar cruise, driving modes, and TRAC/VSC systems.
ABNORMAL NOISE OR VIBRATION
Check for vibration or abnormal noise while the vehicle is in motion.
COMPLETION
PDS CHECK SHEET AND REPORT FILING
Attach printouts to PDS check sheet and file with repair order.
