  • Page 14 MT Owner’s Manual INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION AND HANDLING Lifting and Unloading: To handle the shredder, use a hoist or a crane with lifting capability suitable to the weight of the machine (See Table 1) and with proper chains and type approved hooks to be fixed in the marked points, as shown in Figure 15.
  • Page 15 MT Owner’s Manual 4.2.2 The slot for the pin of the top link allows the shredder to follow any small depressions on the ground. In case of particularly uneven fields or steep slopes, it is advisable to replace the fixed top link with a chain (See Figure 17). Figure 17 4.2.3 Completely lift the shredder and check that the tractor is stable.
  • Page 16 MT Owner’s Manual 4.3.2 The guards of the PTO shaft must be fixed to the shredder and to the tractor with chains to prevent rotation. 4.3.3 The minimum overlap of the guard and the PTO shaft must Figure 21 be at least 2 in. (Figure 13).
  • Page 17 MT Owner’s Manual 4.4.2 Assembling the wheels (Figure 24): (only for rear version machines) Before assembling the wheels, the roller must be disassembled. Attach the wheel holders (1) to the sides of the shredder using the screws (2). Insert the wheel and the arm into the holder, attach with a pin (3) and secure them with the spring clips (4).
  • Page 18 MT Owner’s Manual 4.4.3 Assembling the slides (Figure 27): Lift the shredder with the help of the tractor lifter, insert the slides (1) and fix them with screws (2). The slides can be assembled in two different positions, thus allowing to adjust the height of cut.
  • Page 19 MT Owner’s Manual Assembling the mobile linkage (front and reverse version, Figure 29). • Fix the holder to the frame (1) with screws (2), assemble the 3 point linkage (3) to the holder with the tube (4) and fix it with screws (5). Assemble the holder (6) with the tie rod (8) and fix with screws (9).

  • Page 21 MT Owner’s Manual ADJUSTMENT AND SETTING UP Adjusting the height of cut: Keep the shredder in a horizontal position. Flails must never touch the ground. The optimum distance from flail to ground is 1.2 in. (Figure 32) Figure 32 Adjusting belt tension This operation must be carried out with the shredder standing on the ground, the power takeoff disconnected and the starting key removed.
  • Page 22 MT Owner’s Manual Adjusting the roller and the rear bonnet: When shredding twigs and shrubs, place the roller (1) in backward position and close the rear bonnet (2) as shown in (Figure 34). When shredding grass, place the roller (1) in the position B sin order to discharge shredded material beyond the roller (Figure 35).
  • Page 23 MT Owner’s Manual USE AND OPERATING RULES Starting: Before using the shredder, check the tightness of all bolts and the integrity of all guards. Check that the number of revolutions and the rotational direction of the power takeoff of the tractor correspond to those required by the shredder, see decal on the gearbox (Figure 37).
  • Page 24 MT Owner’s Manual MACHINE MAINTENANCE All maintenance, cleaning and repair operations must be carried out with the shredder firmly lowered to the ground and detached from the tractor, or with the PTO disconnected, engine off and starting key out.
