AB-3.2 Automatic A/B Selector
Improved design saves space and installation time, adding convenience and flexibility
The Russound AB-3.2 Automatic A/B Selector pro-
vides automatic switching between two amplified
audio sources. It offers the convenience of sharing
one set of speakers in a given location between two
different sources such as a local stereo and a multi-
room audio system.
For example, the AB-3.2 can be used to interrupt a
distributed audio signal to play a local source through
the room speakers, or it can be used to interrupt a
local source (e.g., television in a lobby) with paging
so announcements can be heard over the speakers.
The AB-3.2 normally passes the amplified signal con-
nected to its A input. When it senses a signal at its B
input, the selector switches to that signal. When that
signal ceases, it switches back to the original signal.
The AB-3.2 includes a sensitivity trigger adjustment to
adjust the volume level where switching occurs. It
also includes a delay adjustment to prevent unintend-
ed switching during quiet passages in a signal such
as a movie soundtrack.
The improved design of the AB-3.2 places all connec-
tions on one surface for easier access and increased
flexibility. The space-saving design will fit into many
popular structured wiring panels. Detachable color-
coded snap connectors allow connections to be
prewired before installation for quick, easy and reli-
able installations.
The AB-3.2 is powered by a 12VDC detachable power
supply (included). Country-specific 12VDC detachable
power supplies can be substituted for use outside the
U.S.
Like all Russound products, this selector is ideal for
use in either home or office in a wide variety of appli-
cations.
