Chapter 14. Managing Security for Domain Managers
This chapter discusses specific security-related tasks that must be performed by domain managers.
Before you continue, make sure you review the information discussed in
Object
Security.
See one of the following topics for more information:
Section 14.1, "What Domain Managers Need to Know"
Section 14.2, "About Domain Manager Tasks and Responsibilities"
Section 14.3, "Examples of Updating Domain and Administrator User Lists"

14.1. What Domain Managers Need to Know

Your role is the domain manager; for more information about all security roles, see
"About Security
As a domain manager, contact your cluster administrator to find the name of your domain and
whether or not it is the default cluster domain.
If your domain is the default cluster domain, you do not need to specify the domain name as the
Host in your SCSP requests.

14.2. About Domain Manager Tasks and Responsibilities

You are responsible for:
• Maintaining the user list for domain managers.
This user list is associated with the domain's _administrators bucket.
• Maintaining the user list for the domain; in other words, the list of users who can authenticate in
the domain.

14.3. Examples of Updating Domain and Administrator User Lists

This section provides examples of updating user lists for the domain and for domain managers (that
is, the domain's _administrators bucket).
These examples assume the following:
• You are a domain manager in a domain named cluster.example.com, which is the default
cluster domain.
Because it is the default cluster domain, you do not need to specify the domain name as the Host
in any of the commands.
• Domain manager user names are fred.bell and jeannie.clark.
Every user's password is their first name.
• You execute all commands using curl.
