General SÜ/ FS OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Safety information General • Before commissioning the unit, the operating instructions should be read and understood. • The operating instructions should be readily available for referral at all times. • When transporting, setting up, servicing and repairing the vending machine, strict adher- ence to the following rules and guidelines - in their latest version - is essential: Standards set by the appropriate electricity company, UVV-accident prevention regulations, trade association guidelines, industrial code, EC-guidelines, VDE regulations, observance of the current hygiene regulations, country-specific regulations, Industrial Safety Regulation -BetrSichV, Workplace regulations - ArbstättV. Transportation, installation and commissioning • Due to its high centre of gravity, there is a risk of the machine tipping over. Therefore cau- tion must be exercised. Do not jerk the machine when lowering. • The machine must be positioned on a horizontal, stable base. It has to be secured to the wall or floor. • The machine is only suitable for indoor use in dry and heated areas. • Machine installation and repairs should only be carried out by trained service engineers. • The venting clearance between the back of the vending machine and the wall on site must be observed. • Do not locate machines with R290 chiller unit directly alongside an indentation in the floor (basement entrance, drain, hollow, recess etc.) Operating •...

• The machine dispenses food products. The machine must be cleaned at regular intervals in order to avoid health risks to consumers. • Only use authorized food-safe, cleaning agents. • Before carrying out any cleaning remove the mains plug and for a permanent connection switch off any safety devices. • Do not clean the machine with a water hose or a high-pressure cleaner. Repairs • The inside of the machine may have sharp edges and corners Always wear protective gloves when carrying out maintenance work • Damaged power cables must only be replaced by the manufacturer, authorised service centre or equally qualified person in order to prevent serious accidents. • Use only genuine replacement parts. • Only products approved by SIELAFF may be used. • The machine must not be converted or modified in any way. SIELAFF disclaims liability for any defects in such cases. Chiller unit with R-290 refrigerant (propane) • After inserting the mains plug or switching on the F1-circuit breaker the switch-off device requires approx 2 minutes for the safety shutdown to be operational. During this time the machine does not have any other functions. Should the machine however not start, the switch-off device may have turned the machine off on account of a faulty chiller unit. In this case any open flames and burning/glowing objects within a 5m radius around the machine must be removed before the machine door can be opened. • The gas sensor installed in the chilled area must not be tampered with as this can endan- ger persons and the surrounding area.

Nevertheless, even the most expertly designed machine, cannot be without risks. In order to ensure the highest possible level of operator safety, additional safety guidelines are highlighted by using the following symbols with accompanying detailed definitions. Adequate safety during operation is ensured only when these safety precautions are observed. Text highlighted as below symbolises the following: Danger Immediate danger which could result in death or severe injury. WARNING! Possible dangerous situation which could result in death or severe injury. CAUTION! Dangerous situation which could result in injury or damage to the vending machine. NOTE Information to avoid causing damage to the machine Information to facilitate handling and use of the vending machine. The following danger symbols may also be used in certain instances: WARNING electrical energy! Risk to life! This symbol warns that electrically live components are installed in this area. Covers marked with these symbols should only be removed by authorised electricians. Observe the handling instructions for contact with electro-statically-sensitive components and assemblies (ESD) Behind covers marked with this symbol are parts and components that are susceptible to electri- cal discharge.

Transport SÜ/ FS OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Transport Observe the following instructions ▪ Move the machine only with a pallet truck or a fork lift. Place the forks on the wide side of the machine. Remove the kickplates first. ▪ Do not transport the machine in the air. ▪ Always move the machine with care. ▪ Prevent it from sliding sideways. ▪ Do not move the machine on inclined ramps, use stair-walkers. ▪ Observe the machine's centre of gravity. Due to its design the centre of gravity can be high. Risk of tipping over. Storage ▪ The vending machine should be stored in a clean and dry location. Use a suitable cover to protect it from dirt, humidity and damage. ▪ Remove the products and leave the machine door slightly ajar to allow the humidity to escape. Installing the machine SÜ/ FS OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Installing the machine Requirements on site ▪ The machines are designed for indoor use only. They must not be installed outdoors. Except for special outdoor mod- els. ▪ The floor must have an adequate load bearing capacity. Note the weight (refer to technical data). ▪ The machine must not be installed in air containing salt or chlorine, such as in an indoor swimming pool. ▪ Check that the ambient temperature is in accordance with the climate class of the chiller unit! ▪ Do not install the machine in places where water hoses or a high-pressure cleaner is used. ▪ The machine's glass front must not be exposed to direct sunlight. The chiller unit is not designed for this. ▪ In adverse weather conditions (high humidity, high outdoor temperature) the front panels on the machine may mist up. This is a temporary occurrence and not grounds for complaint. ▪ The machine must be in a level position. ▪ The machine is delivered ready for connection, with cable and shock-proof plug for a single-phase AC supply of 230 V/50 Hz. It has to be plugged into a properly installed socket with earth connection. The plug must be easily accessible after installation. Transport SÜ/ FS OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Electrical connection Standard machine • The machine is delivered ready for connection, with cable and shock-proof plug for a single-phase AC supply of 230 V/50 Hz. It must be plugged into a properly installed socket with earth connection. • Do not use extension cables and multiple sockets. Outdoor machine • The fixed connection (hard-wired) should only be installed by an electrician • Remove the rain shield; remove the 4 hexagonal screws, slide the roof backwards and detach. Remove the back panel. Take care when making the electrical connection to the distributor box Re-attach rain shield and back panel in reverse order. • The connection cable has to be installed in a way that it cannot be damaged from the outside. • Include a disconnecting device with at least 3mm contact opening all-pole; fuse protection with max. 16 A F1 circuit breaker with max 30mA residual current • Junction box with F1 and shockproof socket: The machine's power cable is plugged into the shockproof socket. Transport SÜ/ FS OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Fitting a coin mechanism (optional) Machines are generally set and tested to a specific protocol for the relevant coin mechanism. Fitting the coin mecha- nism is usually carried out by the customer. Mounting the coin mechanism Follow the instructions provided by the coin mechanism manufacturer. Hang the coin mechanism in the space provided. Use a locking screw where possible. Setting the eccentric disc Adjust the motorised coin return so that the return lever on the coin mechanism is firmly activated when pressing “R” the refund button. Position the coin insert chute so that the coins can easily fall into the entry funnel on the coin mech- anism. Connecting the adapter kit The coin mechanism and the machine control board (VMC) must be connected electrically. Daily use SÜ/ FS OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Daily use Notes for the filler ▪ First of all check the general condition of the machine: - is there any external damage? - does the machine look clean and tidy? - if vandalised the machine must be put out of service immediately. ▪ In addition to the cleaning procedures maintenance work should also be carried out on the machine (refer to the Maintenance Schedule). Daily use SÜ/ FS OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Filling the chutes (FS-series only) ▪ Please ensure that the chutes are filled with the correct bottles or cans, as indicated on the chute labels. Only then can error-free product delivery be guaranteed. ▪ Insert bottles and cans with the top towards the rear of the chute. The first two bottles must be laid against the right and left-hand walls, in order to avoid jamming. Fill the chute completely. Close the door and carry out test vends by inserting coins. ▪ Proceed in the same way for cans. For four-deep can chutes, ensure that the rocker arm is in the far right or left position and that all stacks within one chute are filled to an equal height. ▪ Two bottles and up to eight cans remain in each empty sold-out chute. This is necessary to ensure a continuous supply of chilled bottles and cans. This also indicates how the chute is to be filled. If there are no bottles left in the chute, proceed as for initial filling. ▪ Empty the bottle top container (if fitted) every time the machine is filled. Clean soiled delivery chutes, so that the bottles or cans slide out easily. Door contact switch (Softdrop only) The machine automatically switches off when the door is opened. The contact to the door contact switch is interrupted and sends a signal to the VMC. By pulling out the door contact switch a little this can be bypassed. For safety reasons only a service engineer or trained operator should bypass this contact. Temperature-controlled version (fresh-food version) CAUTION! Perishable foodstuffs ▪...
Cleaning and maintenance SÜ/ FS OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Cleaning and maintenance NOTE The edges inside the machine may be sharp. Wear protective gloves when carrying out cleaning jobs. General hygiene requirements must be observed. Only use food-quality cleaning products. Caring for the external surfaces ▪ Clean the outer surfaces regularly with a mild cleaning agent. Use the standard cleaning prod- uct for a particular surface. These surfaces can be made from glass, plastic, painted metal or stainless steel. ▪ Clean and care for stainless steel surfaces using a slightly damp cleaning cloth and stainless steel cleaner. Cleaning cloths and stainless steel cleaner can be obtained from our Spare Parts Department. ▪ In order to avoid damaging the effect on machine fronts made from polished stainless steel never wipe across the polished direction. ▪ The stainless steel cleaning cloths are chargeable and can be ordered under part no. 998 00 119 52. Clean the product containers The containers should be regularly cleaned and whenever necessary mild detergent should be used. The spirals should also be cleaned if necessary. Cleaning the delivery unit Clean the delivery unit with a cloth and hot water containing washing-up liquid.
Software SÜ/ FS OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Software Service keypad and display Service keypad The service keypad can be accessed by opening the internal cashbox door. The programming keys are marked [ C ] , [ L ] , [ M ] and [ E ]. The machine is programmed using these keys and the selection keypad. The display can be seen from the outside. If a customer makes this selec- tion again in order to purchase a product [SORRY SOLD OUT!] is displayed. [SHELF DETECT (1)] [off] (default) [HELIX STOP] [Only by motor SW.] The spiral stops when the final position is reached. [By MotSW or LB] (LB stands for light barrier) The spiral stops after reaching the limit switch. Or if the light barrier beam in the delivery pocket has been broken, even if the final position has not yet been reached. The selection remains until money is inserted. If 0 is set, money must first of all be inserted, then a selection made so that a vend can take place. [CLEAR CREDIT] 180 s (default) This function enables an additional waiting time to be entered whilst non-re- turnable change is still displayed, before it is finally deleted. This might be required for contactless card payment systems, where the card is debited with the amount and it only turns out afterwards that the product requested cannot be dispensed. The time entered here gives the customer the option of revers- ing the amount by re-presenting the contactless card to the machine. [SESSION TIMEOUT] For some card payment systems [CREDIT SYSTEM] instead of [VMC] must be programmed here. [CHANGE BLOCKED] [from 255 coins] [CHANGE BLOCKED] can be set to prevent the vending machine from being used as a coin changer. The limit for changing can be set from 0 to 255 coins, where only the number of coins inserted are counted and not their value. Even if the [VEND MODE] is set to no change, the machine will change inserted coins up to the lowest sales price. [EXEC VEND This value defines the number of retries for sales requests if the EXEC-chang- er does not respond. RETRY] [CASH SALE] [MDB 42] (default) The Cash Sale command operates in accordance with the MDB 4.2 version. [CORRECT [automatic] (default) [EXACT MONEY] is shown in the display if there are insufficient or no coins available.

If a negative value is entered, the distance of the product delivery unit from the product shelf is correspondingly lower. By pressing the decimal point on the selection keypad the offset value can be set positive or negative. If a shelf is not in use, it should be deactivated with the setting |----|. The setting is made on the keypad using the decimal point key. Height adjustment The height of some product shelves might have to be adjusted if products are taller than the allocated space. The minimum distance between two product shelves is 135 mm. How to proceed 1. Pull out the product shelf all the way, tilt slightly forwards and remove. 2. Remove stop brackets left and right by loosening the upper screws. 3. Lift the axis with runners to remove 4. Loosen the left screw on the support for the plug-in connector and remove the right screw, detach the support for plug-in connector. 5. Pull the guide rails out. 6. Position the guide rails in the desired position, push back and re-install the rest of the parts in reverse order. 7. Stop brackets must be correctly positioned in the guide rails, and the guide rails must be level! Routing the ribbon cable Risk of short circuits and machine malfunctions • Do not lay the ribbon cable behind the plug-in socket! • The ribbon cable must be routed out of the cable duct underneath the plug-in socket. • If the height of a shelf is adjusted, the ribbon cable must be relocated. In order to re-lay the ribbon cable, the side cover of the cable duct may be removed. The diagram shows how to lay the ribbon cable correctly. Spirals are available with left and right hand rotational direction. Changing the spiral configuration If a different spiral configuration to the standard layout is required, spirals with the same direction of rotation are interchangeable. Spiral-sizes not fitted in the machine can be ordered as spare parts. Tall, narrow products might obstruct the product next to them. This can be prevented by fitting a dividing wall. Fitting a Multiflex pusher If an existing spiral is to be exchanged for a Multiflex pusher, proceed as follows: 1. Remove spiral and dividing wall. 2. Fit the product shelf insert with spring. 3. Place the gear wheel onto the motor shaft. In doing so you must push the snap spring aside and hook it into the notch on the gear wheel. 4. Insert the pusher unit and the new dividing wall. 5. Attach the pusher unit with an M4x8 screw and a gear washer. 6. Unplug the terminal connectors from the end switch on the end of the container. Plug the terminal connectors from the end switch and pusher unit into the connecting piece with flat connector. Mount the cable connection on the product container. NOTE If the driving spiral for the Multiflex-pusher is turning anti-clockwise, the cable connections behind the motor have to be swapped over. This changes the rotation direction of the motor.. Removing chutes (FS-series only) In addition to the containers the FS range of machines have a variable number of bottle and can chutes. These can be adjusted to vend various bottles and cans. The parts required for modifying chutes are listed in a separate spacer list, part no. 652 00 306 00. 1. Remove the motor cover. 2. Disconnect the 5-pin plug from the chute. 3. Using a socket spanner, loosen the hexagonal nut SW 10 at the top of the SW 10 chute rear wall. 4. Tilt the upper end of the chute forward slightly. 5. Lift the chute out of its lower mounting and lower it until the rocker arm rests on the chute support rail. 6. Pull the chute forward until the rear bearing plate touches the chute support rail. 7. Lift the chute out over the chute support rail. Spacer 8. To install a chute, proceed as above, but in reverse order. Before starting, make sure that the clamping piece is horizontal at the back of the chute, at the top. Disconnect the mains plug before you start removing the chiller unit ATTENTION! Risk of injury There may be sharp edges inside the machine. Wear protective gloves when cleaning the machine. Information regarding the chiller unit • If the chiller unit does not work, check first if the power supply is interrupted or if the chiller unit is switched off on the machine control board / thermostat. If neither of these apply, notify service personnel. • When the chiller unit stops, the fan starts up automatically at set intervals to circulate the air, in order to prevent air stratification. • The chiller unit can be damaged if it is tilted over! • Only store and transport the chiller unit in its installation position. • If the chiller unit has been tilted over, it must be stored in installation position for at least 24 hours before it is switched on again. • Risk of damage to the compressor: Do not start the compressor more than 5 times per hour!
