Software release note
Simrad PI50 SW 1.0.1.
Introduction
This document describes the
software and other changes introduced
with the following new software
versions:
• PI50 SW 1.0.1
• DSP SW 2.0.1
The PI50 software controls all
functionality in the Simrad PI50 catch
monitoring system. This includes data
reception and interpretation, interfaces
with external peripherals and sensors,
and all user interface (sensor views
and menus).
The DSP software controls the digital
signal processing that takes place in
the PI50 receiver.
Software changes
None. This is the first release.
Documentation

Licensing
In order to use all the functionality
provided by the PI50 software, the
necessary licenses are required.
Download the lisence registration
form from: www.simrad.com/pi50.
This must be filled in by all dealers
requesting lisences for the PI50.
Technical information
Minimum computer
requirements
If you purchase a computer locally,
it is important to make sure that the
chosen model meets the functional
T E C H N O L O G Y
system requirements. The computer
must fulfill the various interface
requirements made by the system,
and you may need to add extra
Ethernet and serial adapters. Also,
make sure that the computer design
and construction allows for marine
use and safe installation. A laptop
computer may be used as long as it
meets the functional requirements.

• Processor: 2 GHz, Dual core
• Memory: 2 Gb
• Free hard disk space: 30 Gb
