    You can connect the JVC GR-DVL567 camcorder to a computer using either a USB or PC connection cable or a DV cable. First, ensure both the camcorder and PC are turned off. Connect the camcorder to your PC using the appropriate cable. If using a USB connection, set the VIDEO/MEMORY switch to "MEMORY". Then, turn on the camcorder's Power Switch to "PLAY" while pressing down the Lock Button, and turn on the PC. After use, turn off the PC first, then the camcorder. Refer to the instruction manual of your software for how to transfer still images to the PC. The camcorder will display "ACCESSING FILES" on the LCD monitor while the PC is accessing data or transferring files; do not disconnect the USB cable during this time to prevent product damage.

    To play videos from the camcorder on a TV:

    1. Ensure all units are turned off.
    2. Connect the camcorder to your TV or VCR using the provided Audio/Video cable (mini-plug to RCA plug). If your TV/VCR has a 21-pin connector, use the provided Cable Adapter. An optional S-Video cable can also be used for better quality if your TV/VCR accepts Y/C signals.
    3. If using a VCR, connect the VCR output to the TV input.
    4. Turn on the camcorder, the VCR (if used), and the TV.
    5. If using a VCR, set it to its AUX input mode. Set the TV to its VIDEO mode.
    6. Load a tape (refer to Loading/Unloading A Cassette).
    7. Set the VIDEO/MEMORY Switch to "VIDEO", then set the Power Switch to "PLAY" while pressing down the Lock Button.
    8. Press the Play/Pause Button (►/II) to start playback.

    Note that when the Audio/Video cable is connected to the AV connector, sound cannot be heard from the camcorder's speaker.

  • How do I charge the JVC GR-DVL567 camcorder battery?

    To charge the battery pack:

    1. Tilt the viewfinder upward.
    2. With the arrow on the battery pack pointing downward, push the battery pack slightly against the battery pack mount, then slide it down until it locks in place.
    3. Set the Power Switch to "OFF".
    4. Connect the AC Adapter to the camcorder, then connect the Power Cord to the AC Adapter.
    5. Plug the Power Cord into an AC outlet. The CHARGE lamp on the camcorder will blink to indicate charging has started.
    6. Charging is finished when the CHARGE lamp stops blinking but stays lit. Unplug the Power Cord from the AC outlet and disconnect the AC Adapter from the camcorder.

    Charging times vary by battery pack type: approximately 1 hour 30 minutes for BN-V408U, 3 hours for BN-V416U (optional), and 5 hours for BN-V428U (optional). Charging is recommended when the temperature is between 10°C and 35°C.

  • How do I troubleshoot a non-working screen on the JVC GR-DVL567 camcorder?

    If your camcorder's screen is not working:

    • No picture: If there is no picture on the screen, the camcorder may not be getting power or have another malfunction. Try turning the camcorder's power off and on again.
    • Hot LCD monitor: If the rear of the LCD monitor is hot, it's due to the light used to illuminate it. Close the LCD monitor to turn it off or set the Power Switch to "OFF" and let the unit cool down.
    • Unclear indicators/image color: This may occur when the surface or edge of the LCD monitor is pressed.
    • Blinking indications: If the LCD monitor or viewfinder indications blink, it may be due to certain Fade/Wipe effects, Programme AE with special effects, or "DIS" (Digital Image Stabilizer) being selected. Re-read sections covering these features.
    • Dirty/Smudged screen: If the LCD monitor or viewfinder has become dirty, gently wipe them with a soft cloth. Do not wipe strongly as it can cause damage.
    • Images appear dark or whitish: In low temperatures, images on the LCD monitor may appear dark or whitish. This is due to the characteristics of the LCD monitor and is not a defect. You can try to adjust the brightness and angle of the LCD monitor.

    If you experience blocks of noise during playback or if the "HEAD CLEANING REQUIRED" warning appears, you should clean the video heads with an optional cleaning cassette. Insert the cleaning cassette and play it back. If the problems persist after using the cleaning cassette, consult your nearest JVC dealer.

    To open the tape compartment:

    1. Slide and hold OPEN/EJECT in the direction of the arrow.
    2. Pull the cassette holder cover open until it locks. The cassette holder will open automatically. Do not touch internal components.
    3. Insert or remove a tape.
    4. Press "PUSH HERE" to close the cassette holder. The cassette holder will recede automatically. Wait until it recedes completely before closing the cassette holder cover.
    5. Close the cassette holder cover firmly until it locks into place.

    Note that the cassette holder cannot be opened unless a power supply is attached.
