Here are some helpful tips for your SUP Leash: 1. Start with the Leash String like this: Tie a secure knot by holding the two ends and tying an overhand knot. Push the end through the coil. Continue to pull it down until it’s tight and the loop is big enough as shown in the bottom picture.

2. Thread the leash string through the leash plug (or D ring) whichever you have Grasp the end of the loop and push it through the leash plug.

If this is difficult grab something small that can help you push it through e.g. fin key, or the end of a small spoon. Then - pull the string out (as shown immediately below) into a loop – then open it and push the knot through and pull tight.

3. Then open the Velcro straps as shown below and thread through the loops. 4. Then secure the Velcro and the leash is ready to use as shown below. At this stage it is important to check the loop is not so long that the leash string can contact the edge of your board.

The Black Velcro part is called a ‘Rail Saver’ as this is the part that can contact your surfboard when under pressure by a wave without damaging it. Your leash is now good to go!
