INTRODUCTION

OXO's user-friendly Food Scale with Pull-Out Display is perfect for weighing all ingredients, eliminating the need for multiple measuring cups and spoons. Weigh items directly on the platform, on a plate, or in a bowl, and pull the display away from the base for better visibility. Measure ingredients while cooking and baking, stick to a diet by weighing portions, or weigh fruits, vegetables and more. Before you get started, please familiarize yourself with the many features of this useful Scale.

Pull-Out Display
Pull the display unit away from the Scale to use. Scale will automatically turn on when display is pulled out.

Backlight
Backlight will turn on when any button is pressed or any weight is placed on the scale. To preserve battery life, the backlight will automatically turn off after 30 seconds.

Power/Zero Button
Press the Zero Button to reset the Scale before adding additional ingredients or to offset the weight of a plate or bowl. Hold button down for 3 seconds to shut Scale off, or return display to underside of Scale.

Unit Button
Press the Unit Button to switch between measuring in ounces, ounces and pounds, grams, or grams and kilograms.

Weight Capacity Indicator
The Weight Capacity Indicator shows the used capacity of the Scale between 0 and 11 lbs (or 0 and 5 kg). When maximum capacity is reached, all bars in the indicator will flash and "Err" will appear on the display. To protect Scale, remove excess weight immediately.

Low Battery Indicator
The Low Battery Indicator will appear in the lower-left corner when batteries need to be changed.

USE

Standby Mode
After 5 minutes of inactivity, the display will switch to Standby Mode and the memory will be retained. Touch any button or place weight on Scale after 5 minutes to return the Scale to active mode.

Auto Shut Off
After 45 minutes of inactivity, the Scale will shut off and memory will be lost. To turn the Scale on again, press the power button .

Manual Shut Off
To turn Scale off manually, press and hold the Power Button until display is blank or return display to underside of Scale.

Pull-Out Display
Display unit can be pulled away from base unit for better visibility when a large container is placed on the platform. Simply pull on the front tab and position display unit in front of base unit. To retract, reposition display unit in base and magnets will secure it in place.
For best results, place item on center of glass surface.

CARE

Battery Loading (Four AAA Batteries Included)
Locate battery compartment on the bottom of the Scale. Push tab in to remove battery door.
Ensure +/_ ends of batteries line up with +/_ symbols in battery compartment. Replace battery door.

Cleaning
Wipe glass platform clean with a damp cloth. Do not run Scale under water, do not put in dishwasher.

Storage
Do not place heavy objects on top of the Scale during storage. Doing so may affect the accuracy of the Scale.

Zeroing and Add & Weigh Operation

To weigh ingredients in a container, press the zero button to offset the weight of the container, so that only the weight of the ingredients to be added is displayed.
The zero button can also be used to weigh multiple ingredients consecutively without removing items from the Scale. Pressing zero will zero-out the Scale before adding a new ingredient.


Add container to Scale, then press zero button to set weight to zero.


Add ingredients and weight will appear on display.


Press zero to reset display back to zero again and continue to add ingredients until complete or until maximum capacity is reached.
After container is removed from Scale, a negative number will appear on the display. To reset Scale back to zero for a new measurement, press zero and weigh directly on platform or add a new container and press zero again.
