Can I use a mobile phone charger to charge Amazfit GTR?

Yes. It is recommended to use a brand portable power source as the charger, the charging voltage of which is DC 5.0 V.

Remarks: There may be an issue with the portable power sources, in that they can't fully charge the watch because most of them has an automatic shut-down function at full energy. the input current into the mobile phones becomes very little when the phones are about to be fully charged, and the portable power sources will shut down the charging process to save energy, so if the watch is about to be fully charged and the current is too little to be detected, the portable power sources may cut off the current as they interpret that the watch has been fully charged.

Why does my watch (GTR) run out of battery power fast?

The most power-consuming functions of the Amazfit GTR watches include motor vibration, GPS positioning and the light of the screen. If you often run for exercise, receive pushed messages frequently, use instant scalping watch face, or set a much too long screen-on duration, then it's normal that your watch runs out of battery power fast. If you don't use these functions often, fully charge your watch, turn on Do Not Disturb mode, set the brightness of the watch to the lowest level, turn off the Bluetooth, set your watch to the default watch face, and then observe the power consumption after placing it still for 24 hours. If the power consumption is over 2% (Amazfit GTR 47 mm), 5% (Amazfit GTR 42 mm), please submit your feedback to help us analyze and locate the issue.

Why won't my watch vibrate?

  • Ÿ First, confirm whether you've turned on the Do Not Disturb mode, and if so, please turn it off.
  • Ÿ If not, please try setting several alarms, and when it's time for the alarm to ring, please confirm whether the watch shows a screen on which the alarm rings but the watch doesn't vibrate. If that's the case, it will be difficult for us to determine it online. Please send your watch back to us for analysis.

What is the Battery Saver mode?

The Battery Saver mode can minimize the power consumption of the watch and improve its endurance. With the Battery Saver mode on, the watch will record only steps and sleep time. Other functions are disabled.

To exit the Battery Saver mode, press and hold the Home button.

How can I measure my heart rate?

  • Ÿ Slide to the left on the watch face to enter heart rate, and then you can start to measure your heart rate. During measurement, it's required to properly wear the watch and keep the back of the watch fairly close to your skin until the watch can measure a stable heart rate.
  • Ÿ If you want to turn on the all-day measurement function, open the Amazfit app and enter "My → Amazfit GTR → Heart Rate detection" and choose to turn on Automatic heart rate detection
  • Ÿ Notes: With the all-day measurement function on, the watch will measure the heart rate at regular time. Sliding right on the watch face can make the last heart rate value visible. You can enter the all-day heart rate details page by tapping it.

What are DND mode, Smart DND mode and Timed DND?

  • Ÿ DND mode: in this mode, the Call reminder, SMS reminder, app notification reminder and mail reminder will cease to remind the user, but the watch will still generate contents and you can view all the unread notification in the notification list.
  • Ÿ Smart DND: The DND mode will be enabled automatically once the watch detects you fall asleep.
  • Ÿ Immediately On: The DND mode is enabled immediately.

Remarks:
Steps: Show the current real time steps, and update in real time following any changes.

Times of prolonged sitting for over 1 hour today: If no such thing happens, then it shows "0 time." The standard of the calculation is recording as one time after one long-time-sitting reminder is notified. Mileage Metric:

  1. Shows XX meters if it's less than a kilometer;
  2. Shows XX.X kilometers if it reaches one kilometer, and is rounded down to the first digit after the decimal point;
  3. Mileage value is rounded down to the first digit after the decimal point; or
  4. If the mileage is 0, then it shows 0 meters.

Imperial:

  1. Shows X.XX miles if it's less than 10 miles, and is rounded down to the second digit after the decimal point;
  2. Shows XX.X kilometers if it reaches 10 miles, and is rounded down to the first digit after the decimal point;
  3. If the value reaches several hundred miles, it's rounded down to the first digit after the decimal point; or
  4. If the mileage is 0, it shows 0 miles.

information Notes: If it hasn't been paired, no mileage will be shown.

What kinds of exercises are included in my watch?

Amazfit GTR supports twelve exercise types: Outdoor running, Walking, Outdoor cycling, Treadmill, Indoor cycling, Pool swim, Open water swim, Elliptical trainer, Climb, Trail run, Skiing, and Exercise. And the exercise types such as Outdoor running, Walking, Outdoor cycling, Open water swim, Climb, Trail run, and Skiing support recording GPS-enabled exercise tracks.

How can I use the running function?

  • Ÿ Slide up on the watch's main interface to find exercises, tap to open it (let's take outdoor running for example), and opening outdoor running will turn on the GPS positioning function (while positioning it will prompt you that there would be better signals on open sites, GPS will keep on automatically positioning in the subsequent running process, but the previous tracks that have not been successfully positioned won't be recorded, which will affect the mileage, pace, tracks, etc.)
  • Ÿ After the GPS positioning is processed successfully, tap on Start and the count-down will start, and a prompt of "Wearing the watch tight helps make the heart-rate measurement more accurate" will show on the watch, then you'll be guided to the running data interface.
  • Ÿ During exercises, the watch will display the current exercise data in real time, such as time, distance, pace/speed, and heart rate. After the watch screen goes off, the screen can be lit up again by lifting the wrist or touching the screen.
  • Ÿ Sliding right during exercises can enable you to view the time, date, and watch power.
  • Ÿ If you want to exit during the running process, you'll be prompted to long-press the top button on the watch to pause, and then you can choose to pause or to exit.
  • Ÿ After you choose to exit, if the mileage recorded by the watch is less than 50 meters, then you'll be prompted a screen indicating "The distance is too short to be recorded. Are you sure you want to exit?" If the mileage is over the minimum distance requirement, then you'll be able to see a collection of data regarding the tracks of the outdoor running, etc. when you exit it.
  • Ÿ Remarks: Moreover, if you've set the setting to long-press the button to quickly enter the running mode, then you may directly enter the running mode by long pressing the button.
  • Ÿ How to set: Watch → Settings → Long Press Button → Quick start-up → choose Workout

How are the heart rate zones divided while running with the watch?

The heart rate zones of the watch can be divided into Relaxed, Light, Intensive, Aerobic, Anaerobic, VO2 max. For example, if a user is 25 years old, the maximum heart rate = 220 - current age = 220 - 25 = 195, and if the heart rate value measured by the watch lies between 50% - 60% of the maximum heart rate, the watch will take it as the light zone. If it lies between 60% - 70%, it's the intensive zone, and so forth, and this is the way we determine how to divide the zones.

Remarks: There is no lock screen interface for Amazfit GTR during running, and you may light it up by raising your wrist during the running process, and if you lower your arm, the screen will go out immediately.

What if the charging icon doesn't show up?

It may be caused by low battery. If that's the case, it's recommended to charge it for half an hour first, and then you may see the charging icon again.

Why was I prompted "No enough space left. Are you sure you want to continue?" when I tapped on Running?

This prompt means that there is no storage space available on the watch. You can just tap "Cancel" and then connect to the app to synchronize the data.

If you tap "Continue", then part of the unsynchronized data may be overwritten, which will cause a loss of the unsynchronized data.

Which settings can I make in the Exercise Settings?

Slide down to "Exercise" on the main interface of the watch to find "Exercise Settings", and taping on it will enable you to set exercise goals, exercise reminders, and real-time heart rate, etc.

  • Ÿ The exercise goal supports three types: mileage, duration, and calories. When the set goal is achieved, the watch will vibrate to remind you.
  • Ÿ The exercise reminder supports five types: distance, pace, safe heart rate, heart rate zone, and pace With a reminder set, the watch will vibrate to remind you as long as the set value is reached during exercises.
  • Ÿ With the auto pause on, the watch will automatically detect the exercise status. When the exercise is stopped, the watch will automatically suspend the current exercise. And the watch will re-record the data when the exercise is resumed.
  • Ÿ The real-time diagram supports demonstrating the real-time heart rate and pace. With the real-time diagram on, a curve is drawn for the fluctuations of the heart rate or pace during exercises.

information Notes: Some exercise types don't support the above four settings. The settings might slightly vary in exercise types.

GPS shift

GPS shift means that at the time of GPS positioning, there is a big difference between your actual position and the GPS-positioned position, and in the exercises, there may be a continuous track that shifts away from your actual route.

The factors that prevent GPS from recording tracks

  1. The large buildings around you
  2. Complex landscapes and electric signal environments
  3. Poor weather conditions such as sandstorms, rainstorms, etc.
  4. There are fewer GPS satellites in the current sky zone

How do I change the language of the watch?

Changing the language on your phone changes the language in the watch, if the watch doesn't support certain languages, it will displayed in English.

Why the sleep data is not accurate?
The way our algorithm is designed is to track movement during sleep under typical sleep hours (18:00 p.m. - 10:00 a.m). If you are sleeping outside of a typical sleep hour range, the tracker will not record or display your sleep

Sleep detection is mainly based on "body movement" + "heart rate". Body movement refers to physical activity, more specifically, the wrist activity of wearing band/watch (so there may be differences in the results of wearing sleep). When the body movement is small and the heart rate is low during sleep, it is considered as deep sleep. Heavy body movement, high heart rate is considered a light sleep.

  • Ÿ To make a delayed alert, you can, within the duration of the alarm alert, tap the "Z" button at the bottom. Then, the alarm will remind you 10min later.

Why is the heart-rate measurement working when the watch is placed still?

Currently, there is a possibility for the heart rate detection function to show heart rate values when the watch is placed on objects, and the main reason is the watch collects signals through photoelectric sensors to analyze the users' heart rate. The heart rate algorithm needs to consider various bad signal conditions, so there is a possibility for the watch to wrongly detect a heart rate that doesn't exist. On the one hand, as the users couldn't wear the watches very tight all day long, and as the ambient temperature and moisture affect one's skin and blood vessels, the quality of the signals which are collected by the sensor may be bad, so the algorithm needs to consider such conditions to meet the users' needs for heart-rate measurement as much as possible. On the other hand, as there are restrictions on the sensor's working principles, the signals it collects from some objects may be similar to the above-mentioned signals, so if the algorithm considers the above-mentioned signals, there may be a misinterpretation on the signals from the objects, which causes a heart rate value to be calculated.

How to set Compass/Atmospheric Pressure/Altitude?

Amazfit GTR supports the compass function. When the compass page opens, the watch automatically detects the current orientation and degree. If needed, you can wear the watch and calibrate the compass by filling out that circle with figure 8 movements in the air, until the watch vibrates. Then the compass function can be reused.

Sliding up on the compass page can enable you to enter the atmospheric pressure page. The barometer on the watch displays the atmospheric pressure in real time.

Sliding up on the atmospheric pressure page can enable you to enter the altitude page. The altitude requires double calibration of the watch barometer and GPS. If you want more accurate altitude data, get the satellite positioning in an open area as soon as possible.

Why do I need to update AGPS?

As the positions of the GPS satellites keep changing, after a time period, the positioning speed of the watch to search for the satellites will slow down.

After you connect to the app to update AGPS, the watch will be able to quickly find the positions of the satellites, so the positioning speed of the watch will speed up before you start your exercises.
