1.11 INFORMATION REGARDING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE The machines made by Valiani s.r.l. are covered by a guarantee as detailed in our general conditions of sale. If, during the guarantee period, there are any faults with the machine or with the way it works the manufacturer will, after identifying the problem, conduct repairs or replacement of any faulty parts deemed necessary. -

2.2 SAFETY EQUIPMENT FITTED TO THE MACHINE The machine is supplied with various safety devices and an emergecy stop button to the drivetrain that protects the operator from possible injury resulting from contact with moving parts. Two types of safety protection are provided: Mobile protection. -

The machine is supplied with the standard bevel (40°green) cutting head which will cut any type of mountboard, or similar material, to a maximum thickness of 2,2 mm (0,087”). -

3.3 DESCRIPTION OF THE INTERCHANGEABLE CUTTING HEAD The Gladius can use an optional series of interchangeable cutting heads that allow a greater variety of cuts, types of workable materials and improve the quality of the product made. 90° Head (yellow) for vertical cutting of all materials. -

3.4 SCORING / CREASING TOOLS Another feature of the Gladius is that it can also use a series of tools for creasing and serrating using a special head that has the same fastening system as the interchangeable cutting heads. 3.5 MATSTYLUS DELUXE SYSTEM DESCRIPTION The MatStylus Delux is a tool for writing and drawing using a Valiani machine. This tool is supplied with adaptors, consisting of two intechangeable elements of different dimensions capable of holding different pens or pencils. Upon request a holder for plotter pens can also be supplied. -

5.2 PNEUMATIC CONNECTIONS Connect the other larger external feed tube (3) supplied (6 mm – 0,236” Ø .) tube (4) to the left side connector (1) on the pressure regulator (5). The other end of this tube is for fitting a brass quick release fitting (8) to attach to your compressed air supply system. -

6.3.2 HEAD ASSEMBLY Please proceed as follows to mount the cutting head holder: • Rotate the lever (1) of the ring nut (2) downwards so that it can be easily unscrewed. • Rotate the blade holder head (3) upwards by 90° with the help of the grip (4). -

6.3.3 FITTING A CUTTING BLADE (illustrated on the 40° green head) To fit or replace a cutting blade, please proceed as described below: Rotate the blade holder head as described in the preceeding section 5.2.2. to the open position. Loosen the blade retaining screw (2) using the 2,5 mm hexagonal key supplied with the machine and slide the blade out from its blocking plate (3). -

6.3.4 ADJUSTING THE CUTTING DEPTH To ensure a perfect cut of the material or mountboard it is essential that the cutting blade depth slightly exceeds the thickness of the material being cut (approx. 0,2 mm / 0,008”). To do this it is necessary to turn the dial (1) on the blade holder head anti-clockwise (to increase) or clockwise (to decrease) the blade cutting depth. -

Use only a “Valiani” grease based lubricant. Avoid using conventional oils CAUTION! as they can cause an accumulation of dust and paper dust scraps on the cutting head guides and could leave traces of oil on the material being cut. -

7.1.4 REPLACING THE RUBBER PRESSURE ROLLER illustrated on the 40° The rubber roller fitted to some cutting heads can wear out or get damaged during the normal use of the machine. A spare roller is supplied with the machine to allow immediate replacement. A new roller should always be ordered when using the replacement so that a spare roller is always available when required. -

7.1.5 ADJUSTING THE RUBBER PRESSURE ROLLER The rubber roller on the 40° green cutting head will wear during normal use and its position with respect to the cutting blade needs to be adjusted periodically to ensure good quality mountboard cutting. • The main switch on the electrical box of the machine is not in the "ON" position. • The V-Studio software is opened more than once on the PC. The error message is displayed if the software is already open and running on the computer. •... - Page 34 Clamping system not working (electrical problem). If, after checking the pneumatic system, the clamps still do not work, please proceed as follows to check the electrical system: • Switch on the machine by turning the switch located on the electrical box to the ON position or by turning the red EMERGENCY switch a quarter of a turn clockwise to release it (depending on how you closed down the machine when performing the pneumatic test).

Cutting head and blade do not descend (electrical problem). If, after checking the pneumatic system, the cutting blade holder and blade do not descend please proceed as follows to check the electrical system: • Switch ON the machine by turning the switch located on the electrical box to the ON position or by turning the red EMERGENCY switch a quarter of a turn clockwise to release it (depending on how you closed down the machine when performing the pneumatic test). -
