INTRODUCTION TheMat-Pro 150 consume little floor space since they operate in an almost vertical position and can be placed within 600 mm of a wall. As a result, the operator uses the machine at a comfortable eye level without leaning over. An optional sizing trimmer is available that mounts on the right end of the machine and can be installed by the framer.

is complete onlt the feet will touch the floor; make sure the distance the distance of the anterior part of the foot from the vertical structure is of approximately 295 mm (11,61 inch) and block definitely all the elemnts. Refer to figure 2.3 and proceed as directed: install the supporting brakets (1) of (2) the work table using the screws(3), the washers (4) and the bolts (5) onthe structure (6) previously assembled;...
As soon as the assembly of the table is complete, proceed to the assembly of the cutting head and to the pneumatic connection. Refer to figure 2.5 and procced as instructed in the following points: loosen the knobs (1) rotate the knob (2) so that you can free the hole for the insertion on the cutting head;...
The machine requires a pneumatic power supply. To make the pneumatic connection you must connect the external pneumatic power supply line (5, fig. 2.6) to the connection on the pressure regulator previously assembled on the base's supporting beam. INSTALLING THE OPTIONAL: END TRIMMER If you add the End Trimmer accessory to your Mat-Pro you must first assemble the mecanical parts and then connect the pneumatic clamping devices.

regulation until you reach the right position; block the nuts (1), insert the transversal fixing screws (2) on the support blocks and tighten definitively. To make the pneumatic connection of the End Trimmer group refer ato figure 2.9 and to the following description: Make sure you have disconnected the supply from the machine.

components as the handle and the ruler. Refer to figure 2.10 and to the following description for the reassembly on the handle and the ruler. Fig. 2.11 Position the handle (1) on the carriage (2) Fig. 2.12 use the screws to fasten it (3). with refer to figure 2.11 cut the ruler 60 mm.
3. SECURITY MEASURES GENERAL INFORMATION The machine was designed and constructed according the guidelines given by the European Directive taking in account all security reccomendations. We therefore tried to eliminate possible risk in the conceptual phase. those that could not be eliminated are described below. The operators must follow the regulations included in this manual.
!!! DANGER !!! In order to eliminate the risks listed above you must always disconnect the pneumatic supply. We recommend the use of gloves and pliers when inserting or changing the blade. !!! DANGER !!! The responsibility for incorrect use is to be attributed only to the user that carried out such actions, therefore excluding the manufacturer.
4.1.3 Switch for activating the blocking mechanism The switch (2, fig. 4.1) allows you to enable the blocking mechanism for the matboard. In the UP position the block is lifted and the matboard is free, in the DOWN position the matboard is blocked. 4.1.4 Switch for End Trimmer (optional) blocking mechanism.
working position. 4.2.2 Push button for blade insertion This button (2, fig. 4.3) located on the upper part of the left handle, controls the blade insertion in to the matboard. Once you release the pressure on the button the blade lifts automatically and resturns to its resting position.
5.1.3 Cutting blade assembly When the first installation is carried out or each time the blade performance is no longer exceptional you must replace the blade. The operator must proceed as instructed below: close the air supply to the cutting head, putting the switch (2, fig.
5.1.4 Adjust blade depth for cuts Blade depth for cut must be adjusted according to the thickness of the mat used. refer to figure 5.3 and proceed as as follows: Place a sample of matboard to be cut on the table block it by lowering the handle to the DOWN position.
5.1.6 Positioning the stops in order to make your cut Thanks to the stops cutting mats is extremely easy. Refer to fig 5.9 as you can see each stop has a movable support (1) on which an index is inscribed (2) so that you can find out the measurment otained on the ruler (3) directly positioned on the guides (4).
5.1.7 Positioning the stops in order to make your cut With reference to figure 5.11 the operator must proceed as instructed below Position the previously squared mat in the lower corner of the blocking mechanism (1) make sure it is perfectly inserted in the horizontal and vertical internal guides. Block the matboard by lowering the handle to (2, fig.
5.1.8 Installing the End Trimmer cutting blade. If the machine is provided with the optional End Trimmer, you must install the cutting blade and replace every time you do not achieve perfect cuts. In order to do this you must proceed as follows: Refering tho figure 5.12 loosen the screw (1) to free the blade holder magazine (2).
MACHINE USE We recommend you always start your cuts in the upper left hand corner of the mat. This is not mandatory but it is reccomended in order to achieve a smoother cut and especially when cutting large mats. By starting in the left corner the matboard remains rigid and smooth, since it is still intact.
6. CUTTING ERRORS During the work cycle you might encounter some of these problems. In the following paragraph we describe how to resolve the cutting errors. For any problem different from those described below please contact the manufacturer. HOOKS INWARDS If the problem is illustrated in fig 6.1, the operator must: mark the cutting head with a pencil before you start rotating it so (see fig.
UNDERCUTS If your problem is illustrated in fig 6.5, the blade might have been installed incorrectly or the cutting head worked in the inverse direction moving the blade from its cutting position. To resolve this problem the operator must: block the horizontal and vertical movement of the cutting head and then disassemble the cutting head following the instructions regarding blade change in the chapter regarding "MAINTENANCE";...
FINE OVERCUTS If the problem is illustrated in fig 6.7, the operator must: Loosen the screw (1, fig. 6.9) and lift the roller (2, fig. 6.9) weel slightly towards the cutting head (3, fig. 6.9); Block it by tightnening the screw; Try cutting again and evaluate the results obtained.
7. MAINTENANCE GENERAL INFORMATION In this chapter we discuss the machine's maintenance ordinary and out of the ordinary. For ordinary maintenaince we mean all those actions that must be carried out in order to maintain the standard of efficiency of the machine. For out of the ordinary maintenaince implies all actions that must be carried out in the event of malfunctioning.
These substitution must be carried out by qualified and trained personnell, refering at all times to the instructions in the spare part section of the manual. For any needs the client can always contact the technical assistance office of Valiani. !! ATTENTION !! The use of non original spare parts can cause major malfuntionings since it alters the machine's original configuration.
8. MACHINE DISMISSAL MACHINE DISMANTLING If the machine is to be dismantled it must be disposed of as waste composed of meccanical parts, in alluminum and steel alloids and therefore has to be proceesed by specialized personnell, in accordance with the laws of the Nation in which the machine is used. We recommend waste differentiation so that it may ease recycling processes.
10. MORE EXAMPLE OF CUTS ( INCH Measurement System ) 10.1 How to cut a Mat 1. You must use a slip sheet under the mat being cut. Place a mat (larger than the area to be cut) under the left and lower clamps. Activate the clamps.
10.2 CUT A DOUBLE MAT WITH V-GROOVE 1. This is an example of cutting a double mat with a V-Groove as shown in Figure 26. Size the top mat 1/8 smaller than the bottom mat. Attach the top mat to the bottom mat using double sided tape such such as ATG tape.
10.3 Cut the Bottom Mat 9. Change all four Off-Set Gages to the 3/4 leg to create 3-1/4 borders on all four sides. It is suggested the two top Stops, (E and F) be used to provide more precision. They should be set the same as (A and B). 10.
