Aladdin BH210 Assembly Instructions

Read these instructions and the Operating and Safety Instructions very carefully to ensure proper
assembly and operation of this lamp. See page 2 for labeled diagram of parts.
1. Remove brass bracket and two (2) threaded knobs from packing. Install on frame.
2. Place top link of the chain over the hook mounted into the ceiling to hang your lamp.
Note: Because of the weight of the Deluxe Brass Hanging Lamp, we suggest that you set your
hook into the wood supporting your ceiling.
3. Turn the three (3) set screws on the shade holder until the ends are flush inside. Position the top
of the shade holder then turn the set screws clockwise until they rest against the shade. Ensure
that the shade is centered i n the shade holder by adjusting the set screws.
Caution: Don't over-tighten screws - should be firm against the glass with light finger pressure.
4. Place the bowl on a level surface and screw in the burner (100013606).
Note: If you have an electric converter, skip steps 5 and 6 and go to step 7.
5. Remove filler plug and fill with K-1 grade of kerosene. Replace filler plug.
Caution: Do not fill above the lip of the oil fill opening.
Note: We do not recommend using any other lamp oil.
6. Lock the mantle (R150) into the center of the gallery with a clockwise turn.
Caution: Do not touch the mesh part of the mantle. Use the wire frame to handle the mantle or
you will damage it.
7. Place chimney (LEC083) into the gallery (N239AB).
8. Open the bowl holder ring by gripping the tabs with your thumb and index finger and pulling it
to the right, unlocking it from the locking tab.
9. Insert the bowl, burner and chimney into the center of the chimney tube, then close the bowl
holder ring by pulling the tab to the right until it latches onto the locking tab.
Note: It is necessary that the bowl, burner and chimney assembly be held above the bowl holder
ring until ring is latched.
10. Position the bowl into the ring by pressing downward until it is seated.
The heat from the lamp will make the air above the chimney tube very hot. The smoke bell will
deflect the heat outward into the room if it is centered over the chimney. If it is not done properly,
there is a chance of scorching or burning the ceiling. Ensure a 24" clearance from the top of the
chimney to the ceiling.
When the lamp is in use, the gallery, chimney, smoke bell and the metal frame around the chimney
and smoke bell will become very hot. DO NOT TOUCH these areas until the lamp is extinguished
and has been allowed to cool. Do not attempt to move the lamp until it has cooled.
