INTRODUCTION
HTH-6200 is a series of combined electronic humidity and temperature
sensors that communicate via RS485 RTU Modbus. They are primarily
intended for measuring relative air humidity and temperature in ventilation
systems. The combined humidity and temperature sensors are used for
monitoring, control and regulation purposes together with an electronic
controller, e.g. in PLC, BMS or SCADA systems. All commands and data
exchanged between the HTH-6200 and the controller are sent as digital
values via the RS485 RTU Modbus protocol. As the built-in Modbus
communication reduces installation costs, HTH-6200 is highly suitable for
integration with PLC, BMS and SCADA systems.
DESCRIPTION
The HTH-6200 series contains three variants. The physical design of the
three is identical, the only difference being the way in which the products
are Modbus addressed.

INSTALLATION
HTH-6200 sensors are installed in the ventilation duct using the accompa-
nying bracket, which must be attached to a firm, level surface by means
of two screws (fig. 4). The 18-30 V DC supply voltage (24 V DC nominal
voltage) is provided via the Modbus connection. HTH-6200 has a pre-fitted
7000 mm cable (fig. 5), which is equipped with a standard RJ12 connec-
tor (fig. 3). The cable may be extended to as much as 50 m without any
negative effects on measuring accuracy. The surrounding EMC environ-
ment must, however, be taken into account and must be capable of being
defined as low. To extend the cable, use a crossover Category 3 extension
cable, RJ12-RJ12, 6P6C.
The sensor should be installed in such a way that the air flow in the duct
can pass unhindered through the measuring hole at the end of the sensor,
which should be aligned parallel to the air flow. Although HTH-6200 is not
affected by the position in which it is installed, it is advisable not to install
the sensor in an upright position with the cable downwards as this may
cause moisture to accumulate in the sensor (fig. 2). It is important that
HTH-6200 is installed in such a way that the measuring hole is positioned
at the centre of the duct.

SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
HTH-6200 contains no components which require service or maintenance.
The measuring hole at the end of the sensor must, however, be kept free
of dust and dirt so as to allow the free and unobstructed passage of air
through the hole.
