Compared with the single- mode EPON/GPON ONU, the main difference lies in the registration process. The dual-mode ONU adds a pre-judgment to the current application system (EPON/GPON). That is, the dual-mode ONU first switches mode, and then starts and completes registration process in the corresponding mode.
