All status points are optically isolated, and transient protected. Each MicroPAQ-940S module includes an RS-422 port for communications with the MicroPAQ-940P Main Processor Module. The RS-422 port uses two RJ45 connectors, allowing multiple -940S modules to be daisy chained together.

UG-1089 4 Status Point Inputs General The MicroPAQ-940S includes 16 status connections. The first 8 status input connections (points 1-8) appear at terminal block TB1. The second 8 status input connections (points 9-16) appear at terminal block TB2. Each group of 8 status connections are separated into two sub-groups of four status inputs each.

5 LED Indicators 5.1 General The MicroPAQ-940S includes various LED indications. Almost all of the LEDs are high brightness red, except for the Comm Port TXD Leds (Green). The Status LEDs are visible through the front panel. Some other LEDs are visible are located on the PCB, behind the front panel or at the edges, and cannot easily be viewed without removing the front panel.
6 Dip Switches 6.1 Address DIP Switches Each MicroPAQ-940S is addressable (from the MicroPAQ-940P) via eight DIP switches located in the upper left hand corner. Address is in Binary, with Bit 0 on the left, and Bit 8 on the right. A switch in the UP position is a logic “1” and DOWN is a logic “0”.

This DIP switch (SW4, bottom edge of PCB) is a factory setting. When the SW4 switch is OFF (down), the watchdog circuit is enabled (factory setting).

MicroPAQ-940S User’s Guide UG-1089 8 Jumpers General The MicroPAQ=940S includes four plug-in jumpers. The function of each plug-in jumper is shown in the table below. Refer to the drawing below for jumper location on the PCB. Jumper Name Description ISO/COM Status Groups 1-4 and 5-8 Commons Jumper.
Connect earth ground to 0.250” quick disconnect tab J19 in the upper right corner of the PCB (to the right of terminal block TB2). After installation of the MicroPAQ-940S, check with a DVM for continuity between the quick disconnect tab J19, and earth ground of the system installation.

UG-1089 Panel Mount: The MicroPAQ-940S can be ordered with Panel Mounting Brackets, which adapt the MicroPAQ Panel Mount applications (rather than DIN rail) if desired. Dimensions are 4.13” L x 5.60” W x 2.5” H (identical to the DIN rail mount dimensions).
