Introduction

The appliance complies with the highest safety standards. Nevertheless, as all electric appliances, this appliance must be operated with care.
For this reason, we ask you to read and follow the instructions carefully. They contain the information required for a safe use. Therefore:
warningPersons who have not read and understood the instructions should not use this appliance. Make sure that all persons who use the appliance have had proper instruction. These instructions should always be available for referral and should be passed on if the appliance changes hands.

Brief instructions

  1. Place the appliance on a stable, flat and heat-resistant surface. Ensure an unobstructed air supply and outgoing air routing.
    1. Use as a tabletop grill: Place the grill plate with the grooved side facing upwards on the appliance.
    2. Use as an induction hob: Place suitable cookware directly on the glass ceramic plate.
  2. Insert the mains plug into a suitable socket.
  3. Switch on the appliance and select the power. If required, additionally set the timer.
    1. When using as a tabletop grill, turn the regulator knob to the highest level to heat up the appliance. Afterwards, adjust the heating capacity. Let the grill plate heat up about 10 minutes before grilling food on it. Hint: Brush the surface of the grill plate with a little cooking oil if you prepare foods without marinade.
  4. After use switch off the appliance, pull the mains plug from the socket and let the appliance cool down completely.

Proper use

Intended use

Roasting food with short and medium cooking times on the grill plate.
The grill plate is not suitable for use with cookware.
Preparing and keeping food warm in suitable cookware on the induction hotplate. The induction hotplate is not suitable for direct contact with food.

  • Do not heat tightly closed containers such as food or beverage cans on the appliance.
  • Do not use the appliance as a workspace or storage space in order to avoid damage to the glass ceramic surface.
  • Do not leave any magnetic objects such as pot lids or kitchen utensils in close vicinity of the appliance or on the glass ceramic surface. When the appliance is switched on, these could heat up and cause burns.
  • Do not place empty cookware on the appliance.
  • Use containers of the recommended type and size only.
  • Do not place aluminium foil or plastic containers on the hot glass ceramic surface.

This appliance is not intended for commercial use. Do not use the appliance in unprotected outdoor areas.

Safety instructions

Although the appliance features high quality and safety standards, injuries or damage due to operating errors or improper use cannot be ruled out. Therefore, note the safety recommendations marked by the following symbols:

  • Read these instructions carefully before the first use of the appliance.
  • If the appliance is given to another person, ensure that the instructions are also included.
  • First check whether the current and voltage are the same as on the type label.
  • Do not touch either the appliance or the mains plug with wet or damp hands.
  • Connect the appliance to a properly installed power socket only. Do not use any multiple socket that is already being used to run other appliances. The plug and power cord must be dry. The protective effect must not be deactivated by an extension cable without a protective earth conductor.
  • Operate the appliance under direct supervision and for the intended purpose only, as described in Intended use.


Persons with pacemakers: Consult your physician before using induction for cooking and ensure that your pacemaker is not affected by the magnetic induction field. Otherwise, there is a risk of cardiac arrhythmia.

Keep magnetic data carriers such as credit cards etc. away from the device to prevent data loss.

Keep the appliance out of reach of appliances whose function may be affected by the magnetic field, such as radios, televisions, etc.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children less than 8 years.

  • Children are not allowed to play with the appliance.
  • Never operate this appliance using an external timer or separate remote control system.

Using the appliance results in high temperatures. Rings, watches and similar objects may heat up near hot surfaces while operating the appliance. Even after use, there is residual heat. Use our SPRING GRIPS pot holders or gloves, if necessary.

  • Do not move the appliance as long as it is still hot or cookware is placed on top. Do not pull on the cable to move the appliance. Lift the appliance and place it on the desired location.
  • Always switch off the appliance after use by pressing the On/Off button. Do not rely on the pot detection.
  • Pull the mains plug after each use and:
    • when the appliance is not under your direct supervision
    • in case of faults during operation
    • before each cleaning
      Always pull on the mains plug and not on the power cord.


Do not immerse the appliance, the mains plug or power cord in water or any other liquids and never spray water directly onto them. Do not clean it in the dishwasher. Do not use a steam cleaner for cleaning the appliance.

If you detect a crack or any other damage of the glass ceramic surface, pull out the mains plug from the socket immediately to switch off the appliance.

Never use the appliance if you discover damage, if water has penetrated the housing or if the appliance has dropped. If you notice damage during use, pull out the mains plug immediately.

Check the power cord for damage before every use. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced immediately. This may only be arranged by the manufacturer, his customer service or similarly qualified and authorized specialists.

  • Use original accessories only.

Initial operation


Observe the Installation site requirements.

Do not leave children unattended in the vicinity of the appliance.

Installation site requirements

  • Place the appliance on stable and flat surfaces only.
  • Place the appliance on heat-resistant surfaces only and not near hobs, gas flames or other heat sources.
    Ensure there is sufficient free space next to and above the appliance and provide adequate ventilation. Do not place tablecloths, table mats or other not heat resistant objects under the appliance.
  • Keep the appliance out of reach of children.
  • Keep a safe distance from easy flammable materials such as napkins, tablecloths, etc.
  • Ensure that the power cord does not have any contact to hot surfaces at the appliance or other hot surfaces such as hot plates or hot liquids. Make sure it does not pass over sharp edges and is not kinked or bent.
  • Also ensure that the power cord does not hang down from the table or worktop so that no one can trip over it and cause the appliance to be pulled down.

Before the first use

  • Read the instructions and safety instructions carefully before using the appliance.
  • Remove all packing materials and make sure that all parts as in chapter
  • Scope of delivery are present and in proper condition.
  • Wipe the housing as well as the hotplate with a soft, if necessary, slightly moistened cloth only. Clean the grill plate with warm water and a mild detergent only. Dry all parts off thoroughly afterwards.
  • Place the grill plate on the appliance. Make sure that it is placed properly.
  • Heat the empty appliance for approx. 10 minutes. The slight smoke and odour that will probably be produced are completely harmless. This is a matter of protective oils that were applied during production. Ensure good ventilation of the room during this period!

Operation

Use

Do not touch the glass ceramic plate as well as the grill plate immediately after use, the surfaces are hot.

  • Place the appliance on a stable, flat and heat-resistant surface, according to chapter Installation site requirements. If necessary, use a washable, sufficiently heat-resistant mat to protect sensitive surfaces from possible spatters.
  • Ensure that the appliance stands plane on all 4 feet and that the openings for air supply and outgoing air are not covered.
    1. Use as a tabletop grill: Place the grill plate with the grooved side facing upwards on the appliance.
    2. Use as an induction hob: Place the cookware directly on the glass ceramic plate. The circular marking is for your orientation to activate the pot detection.
  • You can select the power level between 00 and 09 using the regulator knob. For rapid heating, press the power button T. In the display appears TURBO, the thermometer symbol and power level 10. - Use high power levels for a short time only for quick preheating, when searing or for rapid boiling.
  • Insert the mains plug of the power cord into a suitable socket according to chapter Technical specifications. The On/Off button blinks. The appliance is in standby mode.
  • Press the On/Off button to switch on the appliance. The On/Off button lights up. The display shows 00 and the thermometer for heating mode.

Heat grease or oil slowly and under supervision only to avoid overheating. Overheated oil/grease can ignite spontaneously. Fire hazard. Do not extinguish burning oil/grease with water.

  • To activate the timer, press the TIMER button. The TIMER button lights up. The clock symbol appears in the display. As long as the digits are flashing, you can set the time between 00-99 minutes using the regulator knob. The set time is shown in the display. Then the display alternates between power and time. After the set time has elapsed, the appliance switches off. To deactivate and to change the timer beforehand, press and hold on the TIMER button. The time will be reset and can be set again using the regulator knob.
  • After use switch off the appliance by pressing the On/Off button. Then pull the mains plug of the power cord from the socket.
  • Let the appliance cool down completely.

Application possibilities

TABLE GRILL

  • Place the grill plate on the glass ceramic surface. Make sure that the plate rests properly on it.
  • To avoid scratching the glass ceramic surface, place the grill plate carefully and remove it carefully from the appliance. Before placing the grill plate, make sure that the underside of the grill plate and the glass ceramic surface are clean and free from foreign objects.
  • Brush the grill plate with a little vegetable oil, especially when preparing food without marinade.
  • If necessary, place a container under the fat drainage to catch excess fat.
  • You can use the regulator knob to select the desired power level, i.e. temperature. The temperature can be slightly higher at the beginning and then reduced. As soon as the grill plate has reached the desired temperature, you can place the prepared pieces of food on it.
  • Note: To protect the non-stick coating of the grill plate, use wooden or heat-resistant plastic utensils to turn and remove the food. Do not cut on the grill plate. Do not leave any utensils on the hot grill plate that could melt or deform.

INDUCTION UNIT

  • Place suitable cookware on the class ceramic surface. The circular marking is for your orientation to activate the pot detection.
  • To activate the pan detection, the cookware must have a flat, magnetic base with a diameter of at least 12 cm and a maximum of 26 cm. Cookware made of iron, 18/0 stainless steel, enamelled cast iron or cast steel can be used on the induction hob.
  • Only place the cookware on the glass ceramic plate carefully. Do not slide it, instead lift it up and set it down in the desired position. Make sure that you do not slide the cookware when portioning and taking out the food. This will prevent scratches and potential damage to the surface.
  • Choose the size of the cookware appropriately to the quantity to be prepared.
  • Make sure that the cookware rests securely on the glass ceramic hob and does not protrude over the side of it.
  • To prevent food residues from burning in and being difficult to remove afterwards, do not leave the empty cookware on the switched-on appliance.
  • Remove residues, especially from sugar or sugary food, from the glass ceramic surface immediately to prevent them from burning in onto the surface.

Safety features

Key lock/child lock
Keep the button pressed to activate the key lock, the button lights up and on the display appears LC. To deactivate press and hold on the button again for 3 seconds.

Detection of unsuitable cookware
If the induction unit cannot detect any appropriate cookware, it will switch off automatically.

Double overheating protection
If the cookware overheats e.g., when it is heated while empty, or if the appliance overheats due to insufficient air circulation, the appliance switches off automatically.

Cleaning


Pull the mains plug out of the socket before each cleaning.

Never immerse the appliance, the mains plug or the power cord in water or other liquids and never spray water directly onto them. Do not clean it in the dishwasher. Do not use a steam cleaner to clean the appliance.

Let the appliance cool down completely before cleaning it.

  • Clean the appliance immediately after every use.
  • Remove the grill plate from the appliance for cleaning. Clean it with hot water, a little detergent and a firm sponge only. In case of stubborn residues let the grill plate soak. Avoid using abrasive cleansers or sponges. Do not clean it in the dishwasher to protect the non-stick coating.
  • Wipe the glass ceramic surface as well as the housing with soft cloth only, slightly moistened if needed. Afterwards, dry these parts off thoroughly. In the case of stubborn residues, use a commercially available cleaning agent for glass ceramic surfaces and a suitable cleaning scraper. Follow the instructions for use of them. After cleaning, rub the glass ceramic plate completely dry.
  • Do not use abrasive objects or abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents to clean the appliance or its components.
  • Clean the ventilation slots regularly with a soft cleaning brush.
  • Ensure that the appliance is completely dry before using it again or putting it away.

Servicing and maintenance are limited to Cleaning.

Repairs may be made by the manufacturer or an authorized technician only. If you have any questions, contact your dealer or our customer service.

Troubleshooting

Disorder Possible cause Troubleshooting
  1. No / insufficient supply voltage.
  2. Internal defect.
  1. Insert the mains plug of the appliance into a suitable socket. Make sure the socket has the correct voltage.
  2. Contact your sales or service office.

The appliance does not heat

  1. The grill plate is not placed properly.
  2. The cookware is not suitable for induction, or the bottom diameter is too small.
  3. The cookware is not placed in the middle of the glass ceramic surface.
  4. The overheat protection is activated.
  5. Internal defect.
  1. Place the grill plate properly on the appliance.
  2. Use appropriate cookware according to chapter Application possibilities.
  3. Center the cookware using the marking on the glass ceramic plate.
  4. Allow the appliance to cool down.
  5. The appliance is defective. Contact your sales or service office.

The appliance interrupts the operation

  1. The overheating protection has been activated.
  2. Internal defect.
  1. Make sure that the cookware has not cooked empty. Remove the cookware carefully from the glass ceramic plate and allow the appliance to cool down. Ensure unhindered air circulation.
  2. Contact your sales or service office.

Error codes in the display

E0
  1. The cookware is unsuitable for induction, or the base diameter is too small.
  2. The cookware is not in the center of the glass ceramic plate.
  3. Internal defect.
  1. Use suitable cookware.
  2. Center the cookware using the marking on the glass ceramic plate.
  3. Contact your sales or service office.
E1 A software error has occurred. Pull the mains plug out of the socket and plug it back in after 30 seconds. If this error occurs again, contact your sales or service office.
E2/E6 The internal overheating protection has been activated. Ensure unhindered air circulation. Make sure that the exhaust air openings are free of dirt in accordance with chapter Cleaning. If this error occurs again, contact your sales or service office.
E3/E4 The voltage protection has been triggered. Allow the appliance to cool down and check that the mains voltage is within the limits specified in chapter Technical data.
E5 The overheating protection has been activated. Make sure that the cookware has not cooked empty. Remove the cookware from the glass ceramic plate and allow the appliance to cool down.
E7 Internal defect. Contact your sales or service office.
