After inserting the battery, the device is initialized for a few seconds. Once the letter „AdA" appears on the screen, the device is ready to be connected to the valve.
Note: Before connecting to the valve, when F4 appears on the display, continue to press the "Confirm" button (F) to ensure that the axis returns to the initial position and the display shows „AdA". Then the next steps can be followed to select the adapter and attach the device to the valve.
The radiator thermostat is easy to install and can be mounted without draining the heating water and without interfering with the heating system. No special tools are required and the heating system does not need to be switched off. The built-in connecting nut M30x1.5mm can be used universally for most common valve manufacturers without the need for additional adapters. For Danfoss RA/ RAV/RAVL, Giacomini, Caleffi and M28x1.5 valves, the valve connection adapters are included in the accessories package.
SECTION 4 = Valve Body with Thread
SECTION 5 = Valve Body with Clip (no Thread)
Remove the old mechanical thermostat head from the valve to access the valve body. Check which valve is installed to select the correct installation variant. If your valve body has a thread, continue with section Valve Body with Thread. If your valve body has clips without threads, continue with section Valve Body with Clip (no Thread) of this document.
5 Valve Body with Clip (no Thread) Check which adapter is required for the installed valve body. The valve can be identified either by the corresponding marking on the valve or by its visual appearance. For visual identification, the valve types are shown schematically below and the corresponding adapters are illustrated. |
Check the diameter of your valve thread.
No adapter is required for an M30x1.5 valve, as the screw connection fits directly.
An adapter is required for M28x1.5mm valves.
The M28 adapter is suitable for almost all valve bodies with M28 x 1.5 mm connection thread. To compensate for different valve heights, this set includes 4 different extension pins. If the manufacturer of the valve can be recognized by a print or symbol on the valve, then select the correct pin according to the following table. If the manufacturer cannot be identified, the closing dimension of the valve can also be determined as an alternative. To do this, press the valve pin all the way down (the valve is then fully closed) and measure the height of the valve pin relative to the surface of the adapter (A). The appropriate extension pin can then be taken from the second table.
Pin No. | Pin Size | Valve Close Size (A) | Valve Manufacturer | Pin No. |
1 | 24.0 mm | 1.0 - 3.0 mm | SAM, Slovarm | ![]() |
2 | 18.5 mm | 6.5 – 8.5 mm | Comap, Markaryds, TA | ![]() |
3 | 17.0 mm | 8.5 -10 mm | Herz, MMA, Remagg | ![]() |
4 | 15.0 mm | 10.0 – 12.0 mm |
Installation of M28x1.5 adapter:
Insert the extension pin into the adapter attachment from the inside. This is only possible in one position, as one side of the extension pin is flattened to prevent it from twisting.
Turn the old mechanical thermostat head to the maximum value. This prevents the thermostatic head from pressing on the valve spindle and makes it easier to remove. Loosen the union nut completely. Turn it counterclockwise. The head can now be removed from the valve.
Screw the adapter clockwise onto the valve thread. Do not use tools such as wrenches or pliers, as this could damage the adapter. Finally, screw the new thermostat onto the adapter.
Check which adapter is required for the installed valve body. The valve can be identified either by the corresponding marking on the valve or by its visual appearance. For visual identification, the valve types are shown schematically below and the corresponding adapters are illustrated.
During installation, make sure that the pins inside the adapter (2) match the notches (1) on the valve body. Ensure that the appropriate adapter for the valve is clipped on correctly. The valves of different manufacturers may have tolerance variations, so that the radiator thermostat sits more loosely on the valve. In this case, the supplied support ring (3) should be inserted into the flange before installing the radiator thermostat.
During installation, make sure that the pins inside the adapter (2) match the notches (1) on the valve body. Ensure that the appropriate adapter for the valve is clipped on correctly. The lifter extension (3) must be fitted to the valve pin on RAV valves before installation.

The valves from different manufacturers may have tolerance fluctuations that make the radiator thermos1on the valve. In this case, the provided support ring should be placed into the flange before mounting the radiator thermostat. In some case, where the valve pin has a different length greater than 14mm or radiator can not close the valve to go down the temperature, you will need to add a spacer inside the base ring, the spacer comes with two thickness, 0.5mm/1mm. (refer as trouble shooting code F4).
