The recovery time of the domestic hot water tank is minimized for all the models available thanks to the high capacity of the instantaneous Rinnai generator which feeds the tank and ensures a high volume of domestic hot water which is always available. The possibility of reaching and maintaining high temperatures allows easy and effective prevention of legionella.

For the condensing models, a suitable condensate drain must be provided. 1.3 OPERATION The Rinnai Demand Duo series storage water heaters differ, according to the model, in the temperature regulation element which can be of the electronic or electromechanical type.

Under the current law, the systems must be held by qualified professionals. The Rinnai Demand Duo series are designed as domestic and professional storage hot water producers. The appliance must be installed on the ground, electrically powered, connected to the gas line and to the DHW system, possibly to the solar thermal system for the preset models.
Once the wooden support shown in the figure has been removed, Rinnai Demand Duo is at risk of overturning. During handling, secure it with straps to the trolley or lift it with an eyebolt from the top.

For the correct treatment of the water that feeds the product, it is necessary to refer to the local stadard regulation. All Rinnai Demand Duo series models are equipped with an electronic anode to protect the integrity of the tank.
For more details, refer to the specific manual of the fitting cover supplied with the Rinnai Demand Duo. The piping must be made with suitable materials, avoiding that it interferes with the other elements secured to the bottom plate (electronic anode, temperature probes, etc...), nor does it rest against the right side wall of the fitting...
2.6.4 Electrical connection The appliance is supplied without a power cable: a suitable 3x0.75mm2 cable (minimum section) must be provided for the first installation. Connect the appliance to a 230V ±10% / 50Hz mains and a proper grounding. Both in the case of first installation and when replacing the power cable, these operations must be carried out exclusively by qualified technical personnel.
The INDOOR model must be installed by ALWAYS connecting a Rinnai homologated flue system: they cannot be operated without having correctly installed the flue system. The indoor unit’s exhaust system is considered as part of the appliance: it is only possible to install certified and tested exhaust systems in combination with the appliance.

DTon / DToff is the temperature difference for activation and deactivation of the circulation pump. It is calculated as the difference between the temperature of the solar collector and the temperature detected by the lower probe of the storage tank. Standard values are set at 10°C on / 3°C off. Example: collector temperature 80°C, circulation pump activation at 80°C-10°C = 70°, deactivation at 80°C-3°C = 77°C.
The generator must be set at a temperature of at least 5°C higher than that of the electro- mechanical thermostat. IMPORTANT To change the tank charging temperature – i.e. the temperature supplied by the generator – consult the Rinnai water heater manual REU-N2635FFC, REU-N3237FFC or REU-VCM2837FFUD depending on the Rinnai Demand Duo model considered.
BOOSTER mode. The operation requires the movement of the temperature probes (see par. 2.5 letter “T”) and a check of the correct parameterisation of the control unit. This operation must be carried out by qualified personnel. For more information and before making any changes, contact Rinnai.

Failure to flush the appliance will cause damage to the heat exchanger. Damage caused by lime build-up is not covered by the water heater’s warranty. Rinnai strongly recommends installation of isolation valves to allow for flushing of the heat exchanger.

Non condensing models: The REU-VCM3837FFUD generator installed on Rinnai Demand Duo can show a code like “LC #” (LC1, LC2, ...) on the connected display. In this case, the heat exchanger washing procedure must be carried out because the sensors have identified the presence of scale deposits.

Storage maintenance Cathodic protection: electronic anode The Rinnai Demand Duo storage tank is equipped with an electronic protection anode. In order to reach and maintain the appropriate protection potential in the shortest possible time, the regulation of the impressed current is automatic, according to the characteristics and dynamic behavior of the storage tank.
