DM32X OTA (Over the air) System Update Guide
1. What is OTA?
OTA stands for "Over the air" and allows for downloadable firmware updates. The DM32 required
connection to a PC and an software tool. The Updater app on your DM32X will fetch these updates
and apply them directly. The update is active once installed and a reboot has been completed.
2. Why Update to 3D firmware?
3D Firmware Changes:
- Enables the ethernet static IP settings and support.
- Adds ethernet direct connection support, for DM32X directly ethernet connection to PCs via
Link Local with duplicate IP detection.
- WiFi Hotspot for 2.4GHz and 5GHz is enabled
- WiFi region is selectable, and required to use WiFi features
- A new battery meter will be installed if required that will enable more accurate battery life
readings.
- The ethernet app no longer crashes if an adapter is not connected.
- All base system apps have been updated to the currently available versions.
- Screen recording and playback bug fixes.
- Many other misc. improvements and optimizations to better support our hardware and use
case.

  • Page 2 3. Connect your DM32X to Power and Internet The first step would be to connect your DM32X gauge to the provided wall charger, and to the internet via WiFi. It is important to ensure you use the wall charger provided, or other suitable USB power delivery charger.
  • Page 3 If you see a prompt like this one below, follow the Settings link and enable the slider to allow to “Allow from this source” Which will allow rStore to install apps on your gauge.
  • Page 5 If you do not currently have rStore version 1.1.0 installed, please press the up arrow icon to install this now. Once installed, rStore will close, and should reopen. If it does not automatically reopen, please relaunch it.
  • Page 6 5. Install the Updater App After rStore is updated and reopened, install the latest “Updater” app. You will need to scroll down to find this.
  • Page 7 6. Launch the Updater App. Launch the Updater App, and if all checks are successful, (Power, Internet, and update available), it will ask you to proceed and install the update. The status will display along the bottom.
  • Page 8 7. Reboot the gauge when prompted. The Updater app will tell you when the gauge is ready for a reboot. Press and hold the power button on the side until you see the reboot prompt. Reboot when ready.
  • Page 9 You should see one of these two messages depending on if your battery meter needs flashed or not. If your DM32X’s battery meter was flashed, it will take at least two full charge and discharge cycles for it to retrain!
  • Page 10 9. Reboot the gauge at this point. Press the Reboot DM32X button or hold the side button until the reboot prompt comes up. Reboot to move to the next step. 10. Almost done! Now that your gauge is rebooted, we need to enable WiFi and set the gauge WiFi region setting.
