2.1 POSITIONING 2.1.1 Rail Mounted 2.1.1.1 This Jon Buoy product can be mounted to a rail 20mm - 45mm in diameter in a vertical or horizontal orientation. It is essential there are no obstructions which could affect the fitting or usage of the Jon Buoy product.
2.0 INSTALLATION 2.2 RAIL MOUNTING 2.2.1 This method is used for both vertical and horizontal rail mounting. 1. Position the white fabric of the strap against the rail. Wrap the strap around the rail (see Fig 2.2A). 2. Bring the velcro tab around the rail. Ensure the strap remains tight (see Fig 2.2B). 3.

2.0 INSTALLATION 2.2.2 Remove the Rescue Sling from the mounting bracket. 2.2.3 With the mounting straps secured to the rail, remove the large self adhesive velcro patch from the back of the bracket (see Fig 2.2F). WARNING: AVOID PEELING THE SELF ADHESIVE PROTECTIVE FILM FROM THE VELCRO.
2.0 INSTALLATION 2.3 BULKHEAD MOUNTING 2.3.1 Remove the Rescue Sling from the mounting bracket. 2.3.2 Remove the large self adhesive velcro patch from the back of the bracket (see Fig 2.3A). WARNING: AVOID PEELING THE SELF ADHESIVE PROTECTIVE FILM FROM THE VELCRO.
3.1.1 To deflate the Jon Buoy, locate the oral tube valve. Depress the valve by removing and inverting the cap attached to the tube and squeezing all the air out of the Rescue Sling. 3.1.2 Rinse the Jon Buoy with fresh water and leave to drip dry in a cool and well ventilated area.
3.2 STORAGE & REMOVAL 3.2.1 Ocean Safety recommend that if the vessel is not in use, the Jon Buoy is removed and kept in a dry storage facility. This will prolong the life of the Jon Buoy. Ensure the arming line is un-clipped before doing so.

4.0 SERVICING 4.1 SERVICING 4.1.1 The Jon Buoy must be serviced every year at an Ocean Safety Approved Service Station. 4.1.2 The recommended first service date is defined by the black sticker on the inside face of the mounting bracket (see Fig 4.1A). The outer number denotes month and year is indicated in the centre of the circle.
5.1.1 Ocean Safety extended warranty is only valid if the product has been registered by the owner. If the owner has not registered the product with Ocean Safety, the warranty is only valid for 1 year from date of purchase.
