The battery must be charged before the first use. A completely discharged battery takes 2 to 4 hours to charge (depending on whether the Tadpole M1501 is on or off ). Connect the AC power adapter to the Tadpole M1501 and then to the electrical outlet.
To maximize battery life: • If storing the Tadpole M1501 for an extended period of time, remove the battery. Do not store a fully charged battery: charge it to 25–50% of its capacity, then store. Fully charge the battery before using the Tadpole M1501 again.
Plug the AC cable plug into a nearby AC outlet. Unplugging the AC Power Adapter Check the Tadpole M1501 Power-On LED to confirm that the LED is off and that the Tadpole M1501 is powered off. Unplug the AC cable from the AC outlet.
Inserting a Smart Card Locate the smart card slot on the right side panel of the Tadpole M1501, as shown in Figure 10. Carefully slide the card chip side first into the slot. Orientation of the chip up or down does not matter.

Restarting the Tadpole M1501 To restart a Tadpole M1501 that has been halted or powered down, do either of the following: Press the power button to power on the Tadpole M1501. Press [Menu -A] to perform a soft-reset of the client firmware. The system will reset and re-initialize the connection to the network.

Screen Resolution The default behavior of the Tadpole M1501 is to use the resolution of the built-in display. Use the Screen Resolution menu to set the resolution of an externally connected See Figure 17. display monitor. Display Devices and Session Size When a display device is connected to the Tadpole M1501, the default behavior is to set the default session size to match the resolution of the largest connected display. This should be adequate for most uses.
