    Always wear gloves, eye protection, and appropriate safety gear when working with pullers. 1. Remove iTOOLco Cannon 3K Puller from shipping crate and inspect puller for damage. (Fig.1) 2. Install adapter plate (Fig. 2) securing in place with retainer pins. (Fig. 3) Install the adapters (Fig.

  • Page 17 SET UP AND OPERATION Assembly Always wear gloves, eye protection, and appropriate safety gear when working with pullers. 5. Place the rollers on top of the main arm and lock in place with pop pins. (Fig. 1 1) Adjust the main roller and front roller pins for proper alignment.

    ATTACHING CONDUIT ADAPTERS Using the Universal Adapter Loosen the 1/2” ( 12.7 mm.) bolt (Fig.1) on either side of the front head. Slide the universal adapter in or out (Fig. 2) to accommodate the appropriate size of conduit. Make sure that the adapter engages the conduit.
  • Page 19 ATTACHING CONDUIT ADAPTERS Using the 2”- 4” Adapters (51 mm. - 102 mm.) Place the desired conduit adapter size into the top of the universal adapter. Slide the adapters toward the puller until the adapter is all the way back. (Fig. 4) FIG.

    UNDERGROUND WIRE PULL 1. Pivot front extension assembly as needed and reinsert pin. (Fig. 1) 2. Lift up the front end and place the conduit adapter into conduit. (Fig. 2) Always make sure the conduit adapter sits flush around the conduit you are pulling through. 3.
  • Page 21 UNDERGROUND WIRE PULL (CONT.) 8. Loosely wrap the rope around the appropriate capstan starting with two wraps about capstan. (Fig. 5) Start turning the capstan by stepping on the included footswitch. (Fig. 6) Continually add wraps to the capstan while maintaining tension on the rope. (Fig. 7) The goal is to match the speed of the capstan with the rope to turn at the same rate.

    OVERHEAD WIRE PULL 1. Convert the Cannon 3K to an overhead configuration by removing the cinch pin at the main knuckle. (Fig. 1) Pull the snap pin, and rotate the front end right or left to the desired position. (Fig. 2) 2.

    USE OF THE MAIN ROLLER When pulling with extensions in use always make sure the rope is engaging the main roller, failure to do so could result in bending the extensions and harm to you. NEVER BYPASS A ROLLER. Failure to do so could cause bending of the extension. Page 24...
