The VPN+ tab is used only if you have F-Secure VPN+ software. The
VPN+ tab contains information about the host's VPN+ identity (used with
IPSec connections).
You must use an email address as your VPN+ identity for the host
if the host does not use static IP addresses, that is, if it is a dial-up
host that uses DHCP to get the IP address. For servers and
gateways, always use static IP addresses, and use the IP address
as the VPN+ identity.
Automatic Initialization of VPN+ Identities
VPN+ identities support automatic property updates just like other host
properties do, but there is an additional feature, which can be used to
automatically initialize properties left empty.
Figure 6-20 Host properties > VPN+ dialog
When the Initialize from Status Information check box is selected, VPN+
properties are initialized using the status information sent by the host. The
following initializations are done:
If the VPN+ Identity Type field contains the value None, any
identity type can be initialized.
Email Addresses is initialized if the Email Addresses field is
empty.
X.500 Distinguished Names is initialized if that field is empty.
