Intended Use: The intended use of this device is to serve as an electric positioning chair with motorized positioning controls intended for medical purposes. The device may be used in environments such as hospitals and nursing homes, as well as residential homes. The device is used to provide patients with additional stability when rising from a seated position as well as alter postural positions.

II. SAFETY MANDATORY READ THIS MANUAL FIRST BEFORE INSTALLING OR OPERATING YOUR POWER LIFT AND RECLINE CHAIR. Your power lift and recline chair has been engineered from the leg levelers up to provide the ultimate in strength and reliability. Great care has been taken to provide you with total comfort and safety. Golden Technologies thoroughly inspects and tests each unit prior to shipment.

II. SAFETY Do not operate the chair if there are any persons, pets or other obstructions under or in front of the footrest, under the chair or behind the chair. Do not position yourself, child and/or pet too high on the chair while the chair back is reclined. This can cause a tip over hazard.

II. SAFETY If the lift chair user is unconscious or sleeping the hand control may inadvertently become activated in a way that may force the user out of the chair. Should you ever encounter a problem with the operation of your power lift chair, discontinue all use of the product upon discovery of the problem.
III. YOUR CHAIR CHAIR COMPONENTS Chairs are equipped with a metal frame, wooden frame, and electrical components. These components vary by model, and electrical components function differently in various models. Please refer to figure 1 below as a reference only. IV. INSTALLATION There are three external power source scenarios depending on the model of your chair. 1. Transformer without battery back up. (Note: An uninterruptible power supply or UPS, may be purchased from an outside source as a battery backup). 2.

IV. INSTALLATION CHAIR LOCATION 4. Place your chair in the room where it will be most convenient for you, such as near the television, radio, reading light, end table, or other furniture. Leave enough space between back of chair and wall or other obstruction to allow the chair to recline unobstructed.

IV. INSTALLATION SmartTek™ (Power Indication) Your power lift chair is equipped with either a backlit hand control or a LED light on the hand control indicating power to the hand control. Your power lift chair also comes with a power indicator (LED light) on the transformer and on the power cord connecting the motor to the transformer.

IV. INSTALLATION Back Installation Your chair may come with the back installed or may need to be installed depending on the model of chair. There are three types of back installation: bolt (without back motor), bolt (with back motor) & bracket. If your chair requires back installation, refer to the proper instructions below.

Push the seat back down to lock it into place. Note: An audible click will be heard indicating the brackets are locked.

While standing next to your chair, press button (RISE) and raise the chair to a height you can sit against. Raise the chair high enough so you do not have to flop down into the chair. Flopping down into the chair may damage it and could cause personal injury.

V. OPERATION: Preprogrammed Memory Positions NOTE:If your chair is equipped with a cradle you will have ZG+ and REJUV. IF you chair is not equipped with a cradle you will have ZG and SLEEP. ZG – Zero Gravity offers a supportive feeling of weightlessness. ZG+-Zero Gravity + offers a supportive feeling of weightlessness combined with the tilting motion of the cradle.

VII. CARE AND MAINTENANCE Your lift chair will require routine maintenance checks. You can perform some of these checks, while others may require assistance from a retailer. By following these maintenance checks, you can make sure your lift chair gives you years of trouble-free operation.
