Microsoft Windows includes its own set of options—known as
Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)—for acquiring images from
scanners, digital cameras, and other digital devices.
The instructions in this section are for scanning using WIA on
computers running Windows XP. If your computer is running an earlier
version of Windows, it cannot use WIA to scan.
Many Windows XP applications have commands to access WIA,
including PaperPort. To access WIA from PaperPort choose WIA:
Visioneer 9520 from the scanner drop-down list. See page 36. To access
WIA from Corel Paint Shop Pro, from the File menu choose Import
then Scanner or Camera.
Note: To scan transparencies you must scan from the TWAIN
Advanced Interface. See "Scanning 35mm Slides and Negatives" on
page 63 for details.
This section shows how to use Microsoft Paint to scan using the WIA
interface.
To scan using WIA from Microsoft Paint:
1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start, point to All Programs, point
to Accessories, then click Paint.
The Paint window opens.
