OPERATOR'S MANUAL OF SDS-PLUS HAMMER DRILL AND CHISEL BIT SET
INTEND USE
Hammer drill bit is used for drilling holes in masonry, concrete, brick,
block, wall, stone and .They are not suitable for materials such as
bitumen, plastic, glue, adhesives and metal. It has carbide-tipped crown
bit heads for more stable, harder, durable and extra-long tool life.
This multifunctional 5-piece chisel set includes 3 flat chisels and 2 point
chisels. They are used for chipping off bricks, concrete, stones, and other
masonry construction materials.
SAFETY REGULATIONS
1. Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Before starting any drilling operation, make sure to wear the appropriate
Personal Protective Equipment. This includes safety glasses, a dust
mask, ear-muff, and gloves. These will provide protection against flying
debris, dust inhalation, excessive noise, and potential injuries.
2. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away from moving parts
3. Inspect the Drill and Bit:
Before using the SDS drill, thoroughly inspect it for any visible damage or
defects. Check for loose parts, cracked casing, or frayed power cords.
Similarly, examine the bit for any signs of wear or damage. Using a
compromised drill or bit can be dangerous, so it is best to replace or
repair them before use.
4. Keep drill and chisel bit out of reach of children.
5. Make sure the drill and chisel bit is securely attached to the drill
machine before beginning working.
6. Do not touch the bit or the workpiece until the bit has come to a
complete stop.
7. Position the drill bit on the surface to be drilled, making sure it is
perpendicular to the material. Do not forcibly twist drill bits. Lateral
pressure must be avoided.
8. Apply gentle pressure and start drilling at a low speed to prevent the bit
from wandering.
GB
9. Increase the pressure gradually as the bit digs into the material, and
then maintaining a steady and even pressure. Once the desired depth is
reached, slowly retract the bit while still running to clear any remaining
debris.
10. Take care not to apply excessive force or push too hard, as this can
result in the bit getting stuck or causing damage. increasing the risk of
kickback and injury.
11. Be Mindful of Electrocution Risks:
When drilling into walls or hard substrates, there is a risk of coming into
contact with live electrical wires. Before drilling, ensure you know the
location of any electrical wires or cables behind the wall. Use a cable or
pipe detector to identify potential hazards and avoid drilling in those
areas.
12. Avoid using drill and chisel bit for cutting through metal, as they are
not designed for this purpose.
13. Always unplug the drill machine before changing or adjusting the bit.
14. The drill bit should ideally be cooled or given enough time to cool
down, when very high heat is created in the drill bit during drilling.
15. Always read and follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety
guidelines:
Each SDS drill may have specific operating instructions and safety
precautions. Be sure to read and understand the user manual provided
by the manufacturer before using the drill. Following these instructions
will help you better understand the capabilities and limitations of the tool,
ensuring safe and efficient operation.
