General Electrical Safety Precautions WARNING: Improper use can be dangerous! The Vitalic Infrared Medical Lamp has been independently tested and certified to meet electrical standards. It is however important to observe the following fundamental rules to avoid electrical accidents: Do Not: • Use the lamp if the housing, ceramic filter or power cord are damaged or, if the lamp... - Page 7 General Safety Precautions WARNING: Risk of Burns! During use, the ceramic filter and lamp housing become very hot. To avoid the risk of burns do not: • Touch the ceramic filter or lamp housing during operation. • Exceed treatment times. Excessive exposure can result in burns. • Look directly into the lamp for extended periods during therapy. Close, look away or cover the eyes for their protection. • Use the device if the filter is damaged or missing. • Wear any metal items including necklaces, bras, jewellery or piercings from the treatment area prior to commencing therapy.
- Page 8 Contraindications to Infrared Therapy Infrared therapy is NOT recommended in the following circumstances: Medical Conditions Do not use this device without prior medical consultation if you suffer from: • Severe cardiovascular disease and oedema • Acute inflammatory or auto-immune disease • Thrombosis, bleeding (haemorrhaging) or blood coagulation disorders • Adrenal gland suppression disorders • Malignant disease • Acute injuries where swelling or inflammation is present, as heat may aggravate the complaint.

Vitalic Infrared Lamp Treatment Preparing for Treatment • Place the lamp on a solid, level surface in a vertical position standing on its base. Do not mount the lamp onto walls or ceilings as this may cause overheating. • Fully unwind the power cord before plugging into the power socket. • A clearance of 30cm from the lamp is required to prevent the risk of combustion with flammable items. Do not place the lamp on flammable materials such as tablecloths or carpet. - Page 10 Treatment The Vitalic Infrared Medical Lamp is versatile and can treat various parts of the body as described below: • To treat an elbow: Place the lamp on a table and adjust the lamp handle until it is directly angled at the treatment area. Sit comfortably and begin treatment.

Maintenance Replacing the Infrared Halogen Bulb WARNING: Danger of electric shock! Only open the lamp housing to change the halogen bulb. Do not attempt any other repair to the lamp, to avoid the possibility of harm during therapy. Procedure: 1. Ensure the lamp is cool and disconnected from the power before commencing any repair of the lamp. -
