BucklEs
intended use: Buckles are used in con-
junction with restraint and safety har-
nesses as personal protective equipment
(PPE) for fall protection and for restraint
during other activities.
Buckles are not subject to a separate
standard, but our products are desig-
ned for use in accordance with En361
(Personal protective equipment against
falls from height – Full-body harnesses),
En363 (Personal fall protection equip-
ment – Personal fall protection systems)
and En358 (Personal protective equip-
ment for work positioning and prevention
of falls from a height).
It is essential to have the entire system
in which the buckles are installed tested
in accordance with EN364. In the case
of specific applications for fire brigades,
the military, aviation, mountain sports or
similar, the relevant tests of the entire
system are also necessary in accordance
with the required country-specific and/
or application-specific standards (e.g.
EN12277, NFPA).
Buckles must be personally tested by
the user before use.
The breaking load of the buckles indica-
ted must not be exceeded; inappropriate
use is prohibited.

WARning
Activities of any kind that involve the use
of this PPE are dangerous. Carelessness
and incorrect use of the equipment may
result in injury or death. The user is solely
responsible for all actions and decisions
made in connection with the use of the
PPE. Equipment suitable for the condi-

beproperly trained in its correct use.
Furthermore, you must be familiar with
the possibilities and limitations of the
equipment and understand and accept
the risks associated with its use.
Failure to comply with the above war-

REsPOnsiBiliTY/liABiliTY
Proper training is essential before de-
ploying and using PPE. It is the personal
responsibility of each user to obtain ap-
proved training in the use of proper tech-
niques and safety precautions. Each user
assumes full responsibility for all risks,
property damage, injury or death that
may occur in any way during or due to im-
proper use of the PPE. No activities invol-
ving the use of PPE may be performed if
responsibility and risks are not assumed.

Buckles and harnesses must be replaced
immediately if there is any doubt about
their condition. A buckle that has been
subjected to stress due to a fall must
be taken out of use and returned to the
supplier for servicing and inspection.
Individual components must not be dis-
mantled! Old or faulty equipment should
be destroyed and scrapped immediately
in order to exclude any further use.
Please note that the specified strength
ratings are only met and safe functioning
of the buckle is only guaranteed if it is
used properly. The buckles can be used
at temperatures between approx. - 30 °C
and +70 °C.

cOMPATiBiliTY/AccEssORiEs
Proper functionality of the buckles can
only be guaranteed if they are used pro-
perly with accessories that have been
tested as PPE and have the CE mark.
The manufacturer's recommendations
for use with other system components
must be observed.
If you have any questions regarding com-
patibility, please contact the distributor

STUBAI directly.
The rules for the specific activity (rope-

be observed.
Further information
Precautions:
• The operating instructions for the buck-
le, as well as the operating instructions
for all other equipment used in conjunc-
tion with this PPE, must be given to the
user and the instructions they contain
must be adhered to.
• Good health is a prerequisite for work,
sport and activities at a height.
• Hanging in a harness inactive for a pro-
longed period of time can result in serious
injury or death.
• Before using the equipment, consider
how to safely, quickly and effectively
perform any rescue in the event of an
emergency.
• Modifications or repairs may only be
carried out by the manufacturer.
• Markings on the product must remain
clearly legible throughout the service life
of the product.
• The fitness for purpose of the equipment
must be checked and verified with regard
to the applicable provisions, standards
and occupational safety regulations.
sTORAgE
Always store the buckles in a dry environ-
ment where they are not exposed to direct
sunlight (UV radiation reduces the service
life)! High humidity, salty environments
(e.g. ocean climate) or acidic atmosphe-
res (e.g. battery acid) reduce the service
life of your equipment.
No special precautions are required for
transportation, provided the above sto-
rage conditions are observed.
clEAning/MAinTEnAncE
Coarse dirt can be removed with clean
water. Use a clean, lightly oiled cloth to
clean the buckle.
Treat the moving parts (operating lever
rivet pivot point, Fig. 1) regularly, at least
after every time the buckle is cleaned,
with a dry lubricant (e.g. MoS2 or PTFE)
or with an acid- and resin-free oil.
Do not expose the buckle to direct sun-
light to dry it, do not put it near heat sour-
ces (e.g. a radiator) and never put it in a
tumble dryer.
If necessary, it may be treated with a
standard commercial disinfectant that
does not contain any halogens.
