GETTING TO KNOW YOUR 2 SLICE TOASTER

BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

There may be manufacturing residue or oil remaining in the toaster or heating element, which might emit an odor at the time of the first use. This is normal and will not occur after several uses. It is suggested to operate the toaster without bread for first use according to the below steps. Then let the toaster cool down before you start toasting the first slice.

HOW TO USE THE TOASTER

  1. Ensure the toaster is connected to the main power supply.
  2. Place one or two slices of bread into the toasting slots and press the loading lever down until it latches. The toaster will heat up automatically and start toasting.
  3. Adjust the browning control to brown the toast to your desired taste.
  4. To stop toasting press the CANCEL button at any time.
  5. The loading lever will rise automatically when toasting is finished. The toast can be safely removed.
  6. If the toast is not dark enough, you can toast the bread again. Adjust the browning control to a higher setting and replace the toast. Ensure the toast does not burn while re-toasting

CANCEL FUNCTION

Press the CANCEL button if bread starts to smoke. The CANCEL button can be pressed at any time during toasting.

BROWNING CONTROL

The browning control enables adjustment of toasting time and has the following settings:

  1. 1-2 for light toasting
  2. 3-4 for medium toasting
  3. 5-6 for dark toasting

  1. If toaster starts to smoke, press CANCEL to stop toasting immediately.
  2. Remove all protective wrapping before using the toaster.
  3. Do not toast food with runny ingredients.
  4. Never attempt to remove bread jammed in the slots without first unplugging the toaster from the electrical outlet. Be sure not to damage the internal mechanism or heating elements when removing bread.
  5. The bread slot is to be used for toasting regular bread slices only. Do not use the toaster to toast irregular shaped bread or round bread.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Disconnect the toaster from outlet before cleaning.
  2. Wipe the outside with a soft dry cloth after toaster cools down. Never use metal polish.
  3. Pull out crumb tray on bottom of toaster and empty it. If toaster is used frequently, accumulated bread crumbs should be removed at least once a week. Make sure the crumb tray is inserted correctly to the toaster and completely closed before using the toaster again.
  4. The power cord may be wound under the bottom of the toaster when not in use or for storage.

STORING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Unplug unit, allow to cool, and clean before storing.
  2. Store Toaster in its box in a clean, dry place.
  3. Never store Toaster while it is hot or still plugged in.
  4. Never wrap cord tightly around the appliance, wrap the cord around the cord clips located on the bottom of the Toaster.
  5. Do not put any stress on the cord where it enters the unit, as it could cause the cord to fray and break.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS. Please keep these instructions, the guarantee slip. The receipt and if possible the box with inner packaging in a safe place!
  2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  3. To protect against electrical shock do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.
  4. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  5. Keep children away from the appliance to keep them safe from electric shocks. Make sure that the appliance is out of the reach of children. Ensure that the cable does not hang down.
  6. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  7. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  8. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest store for examination, repair or adjustment.
  9. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  10. Do not use outdoors.
  11. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  12. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  13. To disconnect, press the CANCEL button, then remove plug from wall outlet.
  14. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  15. Oversize foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted in a toaster as they may involve a risk of fire or electric shock.
  16. A fire may occur if toasters are covered or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation.
  17. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  18. Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, press the CANCEL button, then remove plug from wall outlet.
  19. Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.
  20. Do not operate unattended.
  21. When heating toaster pastries, always use the lightest toast color setting.
  22. A short power-supply cord should be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance; and the cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
  23. This appliance is intended exclusively for private and not for commercial use.

    ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD. Never attempt to dislodge food inside the toaster while the toaster is plugged in. Doing so could cause an electrical shock hazard or a risk of fire.

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

HOT SURFACES: this appliance generates heat and escaping steam during use. Proper precautions must be taken to prevent the risk of burns, fires or other injury to persons or damage to property.

  1. A person who has not read and understood all operating, toasting, and safety instructions is not qualified to operate this appliance. All users of this appliance must read and understand this Instruction Manual before operating or cleaning this appliance.
  2. If this appliance falls or accidentally becomes immersed in water, unplug it fromthe wall outlet immediately. Do not reach into the water!
  3. When using this appliance, provide adequate air space above and on all sides for air circulation. Do not operate this appliance while it is touching or near curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dishtowels or other flammable materials.
  4. To reduce the risk of fire, do not leave this appliance unattended during use.
  5. If this appliance begins to malfunction during use, immediately press the CANCEL button and unplug the cord. Do not use or attempt to repair a malfunctioning appliance!
  6. The cord to this appliance should only be plugged directly into a 120 V AC electrical wall outlet.
  7. Do not use this appliance in an unstable position.
  8. Use the Toaster on a hard, flat surface. Do not place it near a flame or heat or on a soft surface (such as carpet). Avoid placing it where it may tip over during use. Dropping the Toaster could cause it to malfunction.
  9. Always remove the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use or when you are attaching accessories, cleaning it or in the event of a malfunction. Switch off the appliance. Do no pull the cable, pull the plug.
  10. Check the cable and the appliance regularly for damage. Do not switch on the appliance if it is damaged.
  11. Do not repair the appliance yourself, but consult an authorized professional instead.
  12. Keep the appliance and the cable away from heat, direct sunlight, moisture, sharp edges and such like.
  13. Never leave the appliance unsupervised if it is use! Always switch off the appliance if you are not using it, even if only for a brief period.
  14. Only use original parts.
  15. Never submerge the appliance in water or any other liquid. Do not allow the appliance to come into contact with water or other liquids. Do not use the appliance with wet or moist hands.
  16. Remove the plug from the socket immediately if it is moist or wet. Do not touch the water!
  17. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard;
  18. Only use the appliance for its intended purpose
  19. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  20. The bread may burn, therefore do not use the toaster near or below combustible material, such as curtains.
  21. The appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system
  22. After you finish using this product, please recycle the product for disposal in accordance with local regulations.

DO NOT toast small-size breads, mini-baguettes, breadsticks, etc.

SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS APPLIANCE
Only use the appliance if supervised (very dry bread may catch fire if toasted).
The metal parts heat up! Danger of burns!
Do not insert any forks, knives or such like in the toasting slot.
Do not place the appliance anywhere near inflammable objects (e.g. curtains, wood, etc.)!
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

NOTES ON THE PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.

NOTES ON THE CORD
The provided short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) should be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Always plug directly into a wall outlet/receptacle.

  1. A short power-supply cord (or detached power-supply cord) is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a long cord.
  2. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
  3. If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
    1. The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
    2. The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally; and
    3. If the appliance is of the grounded type, the cord set or extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.

PLASTICIZER WARNING

To prevent Plasticizers from migrating to the finish of the counter top or table top or other furniture, place NON-PLASTIC coasters or place mats between the appliance and the finish of the counter top or table top. Failure to do so may cause the finish to darken; permanent blemishes may occur or stains can appear.

ELECTRIC POWER
If the electrical circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your appliance may not operate properly. It should be operated on a separate electrical circuit from other appliances.
