    INTRODUCTORY Thank you for purchasing the BRIQX Bluetooth Multicast Experience. This demo set provides the possibility to stream audio from its internal MP3 player or an external audio source to 5 different Bluetooth audio devices like Bluetooth headphones or Bluetooth speakers. Each Bluetooth stream is capable of sending a 16bit at 44,1/48khz audio stream for optimal audio quality.

    SETTINGS There are two ways to change the various settings available in the Bluetooth Multicast interface to change the behavior or add/remove Bluetooth devices. 1. Using the rotary button and OLED display on the interface itself 2. Using the Wi-Fi setup menu available on your smartphone or computer The OLED display will show the settings menu, and you can control the menu using the rotary button to the side of the display.
  • Page 5 ↳ Timer – Select the timer option to have the USB charging port for this position switch on and off, using the timer settings set in the Home -> Settings -> Charge menu option. ↳ Idle – Use this setting to have the USB charging port for this position switch on when the demo sets goes back into “idle”...

    SETTINGS USING WIFI SETUP An alternative way to change settings on the Bluetooth Multicast interface is to use the built- in Wi-Fi Setup menu, there are two ways to enable the menu. 1. Within 2 seconds of powering up the interface, press the rotary button once, You will see the message WIFI restart to cancel message on the OLED display.
  • Page 10 Bluetooth The Bluetooth section lets you set the name for the Bluetooth receiver when one of the BT modules inside the BT Multicast interface is configured as a BT receiver. You can also see the name of the currently connected BT devices that you can select in the dropdown menu.
  • Page 11 It is advised to start with ID 1, and increment with 1 for each additional interface, so 1,2,3 etc. Additionally, a list with connected BRIQX Elements will be shown. Elements are possible expansions to the system for extra pushbutton connections, presence sensors and more. For information on these please contact Createq.
  • Page 12 About In the about section of the Wi-Fi setup setting, you will find some information regarding the BT multicast interface, like model, the MAC address, Firmware version and software build version and release date. Here you will also find the option to update the firmware of the Bluetooth Multicast interface.

    STEP 1 : CONNECTING THE DEMO SET The following connections are available on the BRIQX Bluetooth Multicast interface: QBUS – This is the communication port used for communication between multiple interfaces. It can also be used for connection to other BRIQX interfaces, it uses RJ12 pin-to-pin cables. 12V –...

    Button Connections 1-5 – There are two different options for these 5 connectors. They can be white JST connectors, used for connecting up to 5 pushbuttons directly or they can be used with black RJ10 connectors that provide up to 5 extra X-Port connections for use with BRIQX Elements.

    STEP 2 : CONNECTING BLUETOOTH DEVICES Pairing a new Bluetooth device To pair a new Bluetooth device, like BT headphones or BT speakers, follow the following steps : 1. Set the Bluetooth device you want to pair in pairing mode, consult the manual of the device to find out how to do this.
  • Page 16 Go into the DEVICES settings, select the position that has the device you want to delete. Press down on the rotary button once and now scroll to the SCAN NEW option. Push down on the rotary button again and the scanning process for finding new BT devices will start.

    STEP 3 : OPERATING THE DEMO SET Now that the BRIQX Bluetooth Multicast demo is connected, and you have paired all the Bluetooth devices you want to use, it’s time to use the demo system. Pushbuttons When you use the Bluetooth Multicast interface stand alone and have a limited number of pushbuttons that you want to use, there are connections available for 5 pushbuttons.

    AUDIO CONTENT UPDATE To update the audio tracks on the microSD card that is being used as the source for the internal MP3 player you can remove the microSD card from its slot on the right side of the interface. Use something to press the card gently in, and it will pop out when you release the pressure.

    The latest software version or vendor specific software versions for the BRIQX Bluetooth Multicast Interface are available on the support page for this product or the vendor sections on the support page, the link is: https://www.createq.nl/support Transfer the update.bin file to your smartphone and connect to the Wi-Fi setup as described below: Disconnect the DC power connector from the BRIQX interface, plug the power back in and within 2 seconds press the rotary button once.
  • Page 20 1. You are now in the Wi-Fi Setup menu. Go to the About tab to find the Firmware Update section and press the Choose File Button. 2. The file browser on your phone or device will now be opened. Locate the previously saved update.bin and select it.

    - It is important that the Bluetooth devices will be charged continuously or regularly, as without any charge they will not function and playback the BT audio stream. - When the USB charging is stopped as per the set schedule, or automatically it is not guaranteed that the BT device will automatically restore the BT connection and start playing back audio.
