QUICKSTART GUIDE
TURNING ON THE BEDSCAN
When leaving the room and the resident is in bed, activate the
Bedscan.
Press OK for 3 seconds.
You will hear a tone rising from low to high; the system will be
active after 15 seconds. The light will turn on at the set
alerting time (see reverse side).
Note: When the Bedscan has not been used for a while, it needs to calibrate itself. You
will notice this as the Bedscan flashes all lights one by one when turned on. Wait until
the procedure is complete. The Bedscan will then start up automatically.
Low Battery Indicator
When the Bedscan beeps 5 times in quick succession, this indicates that the battery
needs to be replaced.
Installation:
Always place the Bedscan in the center of the footboard. Make sure it is positioned upright. Tighten the
clamp knob until it is securely fastened. The ideal height of the Bedscan head to the mattress should be
between 40-50 cm.
Important: When turned on, the Bedscan checks if it is upright. If it is not, the Bedscan will beep until it
is correctly positioned.
The LEDs behind numbers 1-6 will flash to indicate the direction in which the Bedscan is tilted..
LED 1 & 2 : Bedscan is tilted to the left
LED 5 & 6 : Bedscan is tilted to the right
LED 3 & 4 : Bedscan is tilted forward
LED 1 & 6
: Bedscan is tilted backward
Note: If an anti-decubitus pump is hanging at the foot end, its vibration may prevent the Bedscan from
starting up properly and cause it to keep flashing. Be sure to check this when turning on the Bedscan.
GETTING STARTED
TURNING OFF THE BEDSCAN
Always turn off the Bedscan after an alarm or when
entering the bed.
Remember to turn it back on before leaving the room!
Press OK for 3 seconds.
You will hear a tone descending from high to low, and the
system will turn off.
Avoid contact with the lens at the front of the Bedscan.
Touching it can damage the lens, and body heat can cause
incorrect readings.
