Witter AD59U Fitting Instruction

MATERIALS
A 1 Main Crossbar.
B 2 Spacers
D 8 M12 x 50 x 1.5mm bolts, 30mm O/D washers and lockwashers.
ZE 1 Electrical plate.
ZN 1 Neck Option.
This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z11) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball, which dimensionally
conforms to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
FITTING
1. Removing the bumper (Lower Half). It is possible to remove only the lower section of the vehicle bumper.
2. Extract 2 fixings from inside wheel arches, four fixings below the wheel arch at the bottom of the bumper each side
and a further 4 fixings across the rear of the bottom of the bumper.
3. Remove previously hidden fixing beneath the wheel arch mudguard material.
4. Carefully remove the wheel arch trim on both sides to a point where the bumper edges can be pulled from their
clips, before pulling the bumper, there are also fixings below the trim which must be removed.
5. Pull bumper carefully whilst removing the reversing sensor connections.
6. Remove vehicle crash beam and retain for customer.
Using fixings "D" attach crossbar "A" and spacers "B" to crash beam mounting holes.

8. Tighten all fixings to correct torque.
9. Replace bumper, (cut bumper to diagram below Note: please check before cutting as all dimensions are
approximate )
10. Fit chosen neck.
Recommended torque settings: Grade 8.8 bolts: M8 - 24Nm, M10 - 52 Nm, M12 - 80 Nm, M14 - 130 Nm, M16 -
200 Nm Grade 10.9: M12 – 120Nm, M10 – 70Nm M8- 35Nm
