EN Safety General power machine safety warnings WARNING! Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this machine. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference The term “machine”...
Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and gerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock refri if your body is earthed or grounded. Do not expose machines to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a machine will increase the risk of electric shock.
Page 7
Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries. c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or Carrying battery pack, picking up or carrying the machine.
Page 8
Machine use and care Do not force the machine. Use the correct machine for your application. The correct machine will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. Do not use the machine if the switch does not turn it on and off.
Page 9
Use the machine, accessories and tool bits etc., in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the machine for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation. Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease.
Do not use a battery pack or machine that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury. Do not expose a battery pack or machine to fire or excessive temperature.
Page 11
Hold the machine by insulated gripping surfaces only, because the saw chain may contact hidden wiring. Saw chains contacting a “live” wire may make exposed metal parts of the machine “live” and could give the operator an electric shock. Maintain a firm grip, with both hands on the pole saw and position your body and arm to allow you to resist any kickback forces.
Thoroughly inspect the area for wildlife where the machine is to be used. Wildlife may be injured by the machine during operation. Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. Greasy, oily handles are slippery causing loss of control.
Page 13
• When cutting a branch be alert for kickback. When the branch is broached it can bend down and jam the saw chain. • Only use replacement saw chains and bars specified by the manufacturer. Incorrect replacement of saw chains and bars may cause chain breakage and/ or kickback.
Page 14
c) Don’t maintain the battery pack on the charger when not in use. After extended periods of storage, it may be necessary to charge and discharge the battery pack several times to obtain the maximum performance. e) Longer life and better performance can be obtained if the battery is charged when the air temperature is between 18°C and 24°C.
